Alpine rocks
My vehicle is a 2005 Pathfinder with the upgraded Bose system. 10 Speakers with Bose "components" in the front and passenger door location and two 5 1/4" Bose subwoofers located in the cargo area. Tweets for the front area are located in the top of the dashboard. For phase 1 of my upgrade I replaced the front system speakers only. All I can say is wow. The Bose system does not sound that bad by itself and when compared to other factory systems out there it sounds upgraded. However, when you compare the Alpine speakers to the Bose speakers still installed in the rear passenger compartment the difference is very surprising. Using the fader control to switch between the Bose speakers in the Back and the Alpines in the front it becomes very obvious how cheap Bose really is.The sound is nice and crisp with all the tones jumping out at you. Love the detail of the tweeters with the cross over set at zero. I have read some reviews that indicate the tweets are too high but I really think it depends on what you listen to and what your tastes are. The Alpine reference speakers are designed to present the music as it was recorded. They do not arbitrarily change the sound attributes of the music.Phase 2 completedUpdate; I've now replaced the rear passenger door speakers with SPR 50 C's. I'm hearing sounds in my music I did not know existed. I will say that these speakers will bring out the good and the bad in your music. If you listen to music that is not produced very well, then you will notice it more. If you listen to music that is very well produced then wow, the music will jump out at you and will hear everything as it was intended. Poorly produced music is hard to listen to now, I have to admit. I'm more choosy about what I play now.I wanted to update this review as I have finally finished installing all of my Alpine components. I want with the INE W960 Nav HU, PDX-V9 five channel amplifier, and subwoofer in the back. The full upgrade was done one component at a time and with each addition the sound quality improved. I cannot say enough good things about Alpine. As long as the system continues to perform I'll always turn to Alpine for my equipment needs.

Good sound.
I love this speaker so small but sound good including tweeter but for some reason the cross over keep on melting when I had a matching amp same brand.

Great Buy
These Alpine Comps are definitely worth buying through Amazon they aren't much cheaper anywhere else if you get free shipping. THEY ARE AT BEST BUY FOR 300 A PAIR.... These speakers sound wonderful I went the fun route and ran new Z-series wiring for a crystal clear sound. Its really not that difficult to mount the tweeters either my doors are so thick that i didn't even have to use the mounting ring on the back they are stuck in there on their own. YOU BETTER PLAN ON USING THESE WITH AN AMP. I only used a 300 watt alpine 4 channel however i ended up with one rated at 92 watt per channel from Best Buy (should have been 75 watts per b/c 300 watts/4channels) according to the birth sheet with the amp. I would say if you have a good-excellent Headunit with solid output (mine is a Alpine Double IVE) then you should be fine with about a 300watt 50watt per channel amp. If you are however trying to run these on a stock Headunit or cheap 100 dollar thing from Best Buy you may need some more juice. Highly recommended to anyone that will take the time to make it sound good but you should probably get a sub and another amp or get a 5 channel.

Speakers are great but only solved 50% of issue
These speakers were purchased to be replacement speakers for the Door speakers in my 1996 BMW 328I. As it turns out the Tweeters in the box are the correct size but the mids are not. I ended up using the mids to replace the speakers in the back window so it all worked out AND they do sound great.

Great for the money
I had these speakers in my M3 convertible for over one year now, running them on the front channels of a Cadence CRS C9 amp. These speakers need a high output amp. They need to be driven. The tweeters are overpowering for my taste, but changing the settings on the crossovers does the trick. I recently replaced them with Hybrid Audio Technologies speakers. The HAT speakers give me more base, but can't handle the power of the amp. This is with an installed crossover! The HAT's (Imagine's) sound better, but at a much higher cost ($ 300, plus a crossover). The Alpines do require a subwoofer if you want good bass in your car. Overall, these Alpine's are great speakers, if you tweak them in correctly.
