I'm not really sure, but this part has no electronics, the circuit board is merely there to extend the hard drive connector to the end of the adapter, circuit traces instead of wires. If this works when you first plug it in, there's really nothing that can go bad on it, so I wouldn't use warranty as a selling point. I use these in server environments, they are great, very similar to the Adaptadrive adapter, only less expensive. Keep in mind that this adapter is necessary if you need the connectors to mimic the connector location of a 3.5" drive exactly, such as in a hot plug tray or backplane environment. If that's not necessary and your cables can plug directly into the drive, then an inexpensive adapter like the Sabrent 2.5 Inch to 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Kit (BK-HDDH) works just fine.
