Whelen Engineering LINZ26 Series Super-LED Lighthead - Red/Red

We use this as one of the emergency lights on our firetrucks. Was a good price, works as designed, And I had it within two days!

Very bright and very easy to install. You need to be sure the mounting surface is vertical since the light is most visible in a rather narrow beam width - but otherwise it is superb.

A good lighthead; however, a bit pricy. We use a lot of Whelen products on our boats!

Easy to install, high quality, dozens of flash patterns possible, Bright!, more expensive than most but if you need to be seen from a distance this is the best and safest choice.

I have had two of out of four of these go bad in less then six months of ownership. They leak water inside. I am not talking being submerged either. I am talking ruined after driving in the rain a couple of times. Several in my department have had these fail the same way. Yes, they will replace them but how fun is pulling the bumper off of your vehicle?

I bought my first Linz6 light from a different supplier in April 2009 about 6 months after they came out and fell in love with the light and have been using them ever since. I needed to install some on a new vehicle and ordered these through Amazon. The order processed quickly and they came in a timely manner as usual. However, when they came I noticed there were only 25 flash patterns listed on the package. I have never seen this before. I called Defender Supply in Texas and asked what was up as I had never seen these before. The gentlemen on the phone stated that as far as he and everyone else he talked to knew all Liz6's had 69 flash patterns. He said to open the package and not worry about it that Amazon would fix it if they were not correct. Well it turns out that the Linz6's I received do not have the ability to split the 6 LED's into two 3 LED's and only operate with all 6 on at once. No one I have spoken to that installs these has ever seen this. Anyway, it worked for the application I needed this time and I had to get the vehicle done so I kept them. I just won't have the flexibility when it comes time to remove them and install them on something else. I am not sure if this is the norm with ordering them here but if the ability to split the light and the 69 flash patterns is important to you make sure the package lists the 69 flash patterns on the outside of the plastic envelope or send them back. It is still a GREAT light.
