The insulation is okay but very fragile. It's a little small (width) for any standard windows so buy an extra set to stitch together. Takes about 6 (3 pairs) for a patio door. Do not replace your original as you'll be doing it annually; instead supplement the original with this or even buy another side panel to use with it. These are not stand alone side panels, it's just extra insulation that's good for one season. Take care, it's really easy to rip and doesn't withstand wind or rain well.

This is fantastic. I used Gorilla Tape to seal over the entire foam when installing 2 window A/C units and they are so well sealed that I won't even need to remove them for winter anymore! I am delighted with that aspect. Very easy to use, the sound proofing aspect is incredible, totally keeps out bugs/light/heat/cold and the price is very good for what you get. I don't bother with the plastic parts that are included. I cut them to fit over the "accordian" slats on the sides of the window A/C units and then attach/tape right over. This is 1 of my favourite finds as far as any product in the last year or so.

I live in an old, horrifically insulated rental apartment. Winters in my apartment have been ridiculously cold (like, see your breath even with the heat on cold). It gets so cold that my bedroom window gets covered by ice...both inside and outside, I pay for hydro and the apartment has base board electric heating so yeah, terrible heating combo.I tried using this product since it was cheap and I had nothing to lose. I just shoved it into every crevice of the window to seal off any potential area of heat loss; I used a spoon to cram it into the corners and hard to reach areas. As such, you don't see it so there are no concerns about aesthetics.I had purchased other weather stripping that was expensive and honestly, useless since it came off within a week. With this stuff, you aren't using adhesives so you don't have to deal with that issue. The type I purchased was too thick but I just cut it down to size. This product will be removed in late Spring/summer so I am not concerned about the longevity aspect of it and for the cost, that truly isn't a variable to consider.The results have been fantastic!!! No ice on the inside of my window and a very dramatic difference in the temperature. I often don't have to have the heat on, the difference has been that significant.

These are great and come with everything needed to cut them to size to fit the AC unit. However, here in Canada where we can get really cold and windy weather and have snow every month of the year, they are not stand alone. Neither are the accordion panels that came with the AC. We have put these over the accdordian panels that came with the window AC. and together they are perfect. They work perfectly to keep out the wind, snow, dust and reduce some of the noise. I'm sure they would be all you need in most places, but for our climate they perfectly augment the ones we already had. I have no reservations recommending them :)

this foam actually improved the performance of my AIRCARE humifier by letting more air circulate while still catching dust particles. the AIRCARE humidifier's original filter was to thick and had activated charcoal for "odors" ...really who cares about a hummidifier catching odors …. its job is to humidify and the more CFM pass in and out the better

Used to help insulate air conditioner and works as expected throughout the summer. Since it's a portable air conditioner, I move it around everyday and take out and put in the Duck strip seal -- so far, the strip seal has no visible damage no matter how much I bend and pulled it from the window. However, I did not use any glue to hold the strip seal -- only pressed it against the window to hold it up.

My original filter screen was missing form my airconditioner and was unable to locate a replacement anywhere in Canada or USA. This product works but unable to duplicate the plastic frame work that the original had. Applied sealant around the edges to give it some rigidity. Very pleased with the product.

Would rate 5 stars if it actually came in a smaller size. My A/c Units are 24" to 26", so the 36" has quite a bit of room. The strap seems to hold it on OK though, although haven't had a big winter storm yet to see if the wind takes it away.

Excellent quality filter foam. This is harder to find than I realized. I have severe lung problems and last summer in my air conditioner I used the Filtrete filter which seems to be made of old style furnace filter material and is so thin it can be seen through so I doubt its dust capturing abilities. This Duck Brand foam filter is dense and without blocking the airflow cannot be seen through. It also washes very well and holds it shape so is a real money saver in that it is reusable. Not just for air conditioners, excellent for any type of machinery that uses air filters of this thickness.

Works great. Fits standard box perfectly. Only problem I’d say is it doesn’t have Insulation so you’d probably have to buy a piece from your local hardware or te cold may still come in.

Really waterproof and great for all sizes. Seems durable as well. I would say the price is about 10-15% too expensive for the product....But I didn't have a lot of options for the size of my unit.

However, the securing straps/fasteners does not feel like it can secure it from the strong Canadian winter wind. Let's hope it could still be fasten after the winter season and not blown away like my other BBQ covers LOL...

I have an air conditioner that is 15 years old and I was unable to find a replacement filter until I went to the Amazon website as a last resort. Imagine my surprise! It fits! I'm happy!

Good size. The elastic band isn't very secure. It is probably bigger than it needs to be but was easy to tarp over the AC.
