**Q: Is the 77-iv actually made here in the usa, as opposed to being "designed in the usa"?**
A: The Fluke-77-IV is made in USA.

**Q: what is the difference between this 77-4 and the 88v Automotive Multimeter?**
A: I've had both the 77 and the 88 series... now have an 87 series. I'm a professional automotive technician and in today's professional environment I don't really see a need for the 88 (My personal opinion after 24 years in the industry). Looking over this 77, it seems to have all you'll really use a multimeter for these days in the automotive field anyhow. That being said I don't know your intended use so please check out Flukes product comparison that others have linked and see if the 88 truly offers features you need. If it doesn't then go for the 77 (kind of wish I'd stuck with my old 77).

Nice meter for control work; reads mA and Hz. Expensive, but I believe you get what you pay for, and I have no desire to have an accident or perform poor quality work because of faulty readings.
