Avengers: Official Index to the Marvel Universe

I am a new fan to Captain America,and I find this a wonderful start to understanding the Marvel universal. This is perfect for all new fans who want to see what comic books to pick up.

Item came as described. Would buy from again.

All the info in this is quite complete. It was not exactly what I wanted. I was looking more for a history.

Love this index as it covers all the Avengers books I have ever known as well as 100s of tales that I have never read (and must explore via Unlimited as well as epic editions etc). The level of detail is impressive and in many ways pretty baffling to the types of Flashback / cameos / GA / GS etc. This index is a lot more complex and thorough than the old Alan Austin's Marvel Comic Superhero Index (though I would never trade that for the world). A few issues perhaps being the size of the covers, they are fairly small as well as I would have loved more about the background to the creation of the mags (if known for a particular issue such as thoughts by the editor such as Roy Thomas would have made the book even more amazing)

This is admittedly only for hardcore Marvel fans who are into the specific minutia offered, but if you're like be you're going to get a kick out of this index. Covers the original volume of Avengers (1963-1996), the 2nd (1996-1997), 3rd (1997-2004), and first volume of New Avengers (2004-2010), among assorted mini-series and annuals. Of course, with all of the material published since this book's original release it's already slightly out of date. It's still worth checking out if you're into the nuts and bolts of the Avengers.

I have so far really enjoyed these Marvel Indexes, and find them a great asset to my collection. If you are a fan of these books and want to know all of the happenings then these guides are for you.
