Good looking, strong and light.
I have a 16-7/8” viola of my own making and this is one of the few high-quality light weight cases I found that fits. There is actually enough room for a 17” instrument. Good solid protection, but very light weight. Inside is a little cramped for all the stuff I carry, but I can get a Kuhn shoulder rest, 2 bows, rosin, tuner, humidifier and cleaning cloth inside. The only drawback is lack of a music pocket, but that is a result of the shape and is not peculiar to this case. The shoulder straps let you carry it as a backpack or on one shoulder. The attachment of the straps is very secure with screw carabiners all around.

Excellent...but no rosin compartment?
This case is excellent! I like that it has a key for the latches. The only thing that annoys me is not having a little compartment for rosin--That's why it's 4 stars. But I use the pocket that the straps came in and fit it under the neck of the instrument.

Bam has lost its way
Years ago Bam made great cases. I bought my first Bam case in 1998, and I still have it, though it’s seldom taken out. I have purchased three Hightech cases (two for viola and one for violin). It has become clear that Bam has ended its innovation, hardly anything has improved since 2004 when the contoured Hightech cases were first introduced. Meanwhile, the quality of craftsmanship has taken a dive. From faulty placement of bow spinners, easily broken latches (not to mention the dangerous design of the new Bam latches, which, unlike any other lock on any other case in history, extends over the frame of the case potentially causing scratches on instruments. It was a shock when I first saw it. Luthiers cannot stop warning about this design flaw).Bam has decided to add accessories to their cases, most of which are overpriced and not made to last. The “back cushion/pocket” contraption Bam designed for Hightech cases was mostly acceptable, yet its 100 USD + price is baffled given the absolutely clueless use of velcro, something that isn’t made to last very long, where simple straps would have been far wiser.Look elsewhere. Bam does not honor its “guarantee” any more. Cases do not have sett serial numbers. BAM’s after sales support put the onus on the retailer to sort out defects with BAM’s cases. The company is a mess. It’s no longer about giving safe storage to priceless instruments; it’s now a plastic box company flooding the market. Look at other brands: Galaxy, Gewa, Musafia, Bogaro&Clemente, Riboni

Love it
Love this case. It is much light than my canvas case. And stylish. I am bringing it with me for an orchestra trip
