Good book to get started with Google's software.
My sons school is now using Chromebooks in class and everything is online including their office programs. I'm used to Word and Excel etc. and my son is not really that great at either so I got this book to see if it would help him or at least help me help him. Its a little advanced for him since he is only 11 but I can easily make sense of it. I actually got a lot from the chapter on Gmail and learned a bunch of things I didn't know so that's a bonus.

466 page technology book with no index -- worthless
Author and publisher should be ashamed -- 466 page technology book with no index is worthless except as a doorstop.

Broad brushstrokes; but at best a nice try.
I've had and used the book at least a year. It is useful in places. One could very well ask whether it is even possible to make Google Apps "easy." If that had been the book's objective, then it failed. On the other hand, as a part-reference, part-introduction, it will have to do. One reviewer has bemoaned the lack of an index. I agree with that criticism. I therefore use the Table of Contents a lot, and it is fairly detailed for a T of C. But where is the chapter on Google Calendar? Flip to page 430, and there it is, Chapter 10. But the T o F lacks any reference to Chapter 10. It goes from Chapter 9 to Chapter 11. This seems to be a home-brew publication. Mr. Bernstein, hire an editor.

Excellent resource
Excellent resource for learning to use Google apps. 472 pages of step by step, well illustrated instructions. 2019 copyright. There is no index, but there is a detailed Table of Contents. I found this book to be very helpful in my preparation to transition from MS Office to G Suite in my workplace.

Be warned...the Amazon example shows color, actual product is not
The actual product is NOT as described. The Amazon product showed color on several pages of their brief "look inside" promo - pgs 8, 9, 10, 11.I reviewed several alternatives for buying this and a deciding factor was COLOR over cheap black & white print which I've found much easier to read - hence I bought this over competitors. The actual paperback is NOT in color - ZERO, NONE, NADA. Not pages 8, 9, 10, 11 or ANY page.Standard hard to read cheap grayish black on cheap, hard to read, paper.Do I feel conned? - you betcha.

Rambling black-and-white self-published no-index disappointment
Lots of black and white screen shots (actually, grey and white) that are hard to see clearly. Same problem with text. He does take you through worked examples which are pretty good. His writing style annoyed me, but I can't put my finger on exactly why.
