SATA Male to SATA Extension Cable - 20 Inch

a good extension cable for a cheap price.

Easy to use and material is very good at this price. Length is perfect to easily connect ant external device. There are many ways one can use it.Bought for particular purpose and it serves it as expected. Actually i needed it to connect my Xbox360 dvd drive to my laptop for flashing as my laptop had only internal SATA connectors and that too only male. Can be used to extend internal SATA ports of laptops to connect devices easily.

Arrived DOA so I can't say I'de recommend this cable. Also, the male end really does not fit well into a female SATA port. It's not fabricated right, or at least mine wasn't. I found this cable from another manufacturer (it's red) and it worked and fit perfectly.

I used these to attach 3.5 inch hard drives to a Seagate Goflex Net. I had to grind off the guide pegs to get them to fit and then there was no latch to hold them in place. SATA is designed for a maximum cable length of 1 meter. It's a high speed serial link where signal integrity really counts. So if you use these things as extension cords, don't expect a miracle. The connection in the middle of the run will degrade the signal. If you need a longer SATA cable, buying one the right length will be more reliable than extending a short one with these things. But if you have an oddball application like mine, these things work, and the price is right.

This product saved me CASH! I had a dead HDD in my PS3, and I wanted to replace it with a 3.5 inch SATA drive, but PS3's only use 2.5 inch SATA drives. I powered up my 3.5 inch, and I connected the male end to the drive, and the female to the existing SATA data connector on the PS3, and it WORKED! This is a great product.

Very good... i used it on my computer because the HD was far away from my mother board's sata input and it only came with a 4inch wire... but this product did the job perfectly =) will buy more =)
