Whitmor Storage Cubes - Stackable Interlocking Wire Shelves - 14.25"D x 14.5"W x 14.5"H - Black (Set of 6)

I have used these as a dresser, and to make an outdoor cat run (attached photo) and they work great. I love how you can put it together in different shapes. The plastic joints do get fatigue over time, and I've broken a few parts off here and there. For the indoor dresser, I've had that for 8 years now, and only just started to have a few places fracture when I pull at them due to plastic fatigue (the joints, not the panels). The outdoor cat run has been in place for a year in all weather, and some of those have broken little bits off, too. That said, I find them overall sturdy and versatile (I use zipties with the cat run, too, just because it has to be more load bearing). If I were careful to always be very gentle with taking the panels out, I probably would not break off pieces very often, although at some point it's inevitable.

My oldest wanted another Guinea pig. It has been quite a few years since we last owned one, but we kept all the supplies. There was one major problem: after researching Guinea pigs, my daughter informed me our old cage was far too small. For her birthday she asked for these wire storage cubes to make an enclosure for her future Guinea pig. She had no problem putting it together. She did not use any zip ties like some others had, but said she may get some to make sure it is a bit more sturdy. She lined the enclosure with a plastic corrugated sheet she purchased from a local hardware store. After scoring it, she bent the sheet so it made a box. Then she lined the entire enclosure with some fleece. When it was all completed we went to the pet store and adopted a two year old male Guinea pig. He has been happily romping around his home for a week now. What makes this enclosure so wonderful isn't just the ease of putting it together, but also it can be added on to. There are some wire grids left over and she could have made the enclosure larger, but then she would have needed to have a larger piece of plastic to line it. Maybe in the future she will add on or she was thinking if the Guinea pig is friendly enough getting another. Then we will purchase another set of storage cubes to make the enclosure at least twice as large. I know this is an unconventional review for these storage cubes, but it really made an amazing habitat for her Guinea pig and I wanted to share.

These things are so useful! I've used them for so many things, from closet organization, to living room organization, to a makeshift hideaway for my chihuahua, and even helping keep our vinyls apart and unbended when stored. Currently I'm using the grates to pack the top of boxes and keep them firm while moving. My only 2 complaints: - Some of the grates came pretty bent, and while they are pliable enough to somewhat bend back into shape with some force, they'll never be completely flat, so we can't use them for some of the stuff mentioned above. - The little connector things are absolutely useless. They fall off, don't go on correctly, snap into pieces, and make any structure all wobbly. You'd be better off buying Zipties like we did. With the zipties the grates are PERFECT though! A heads up though to anyone using them: These grates do have different sides and it does matter which you use sometimes. One side is flat and the inside grid indents a bit. On the other side, it sticks out from the frame of the grate. If you don't notice and build something with them randomly facing either way, sometimes the zipties will go a little wonky and not make your structure symmetrical. Personally I think it usually looks best to have the side that sticks out facing inward. Just a note!

This is a great, versatile shelving and wire rack system. It is lightweight and sturdy enough to hold plastic toys, shoes, even a boombox on top. We followed a YouTube video to make a small animal cage out of a set of these and used another set to make toy shelves for our child. I would not use it as a bookshelf, though. The plastic connectors can be a bit tough to get in place just right, but they do hold well. They will loosen if you disassemble and reassemble the shelving several times, which weakens their hold.

I purchased this 6-cube set a couple weeks after buying the smaller set. I used the smaller set to make the sides for a C & C guinea pig cage, and then purchased the 6-set in order to elevate the cage. The 4-set was somewhat annoying to put together, but I only built the exterior walls, so it wasn't too bad. Assembling the 6-set took 40 minutes. I struggled to get all corners/edges to sit on the ground. One corner is actually still slightly elevated. While putting it together, three of the plastic connector pieces broke in my hands. The instructions suggest using a mallet to tap the panels in place. I'm a 5'2" female and the pieces broke while I was attempting to use them - how well do you think they'd stand up to a mallet? After the unit was assembled, it was so rickety I didn't trust it to hold up my guinea pig's cage. Luckily, I had a bag of small black zip ties on hand. I left the connectors in place in order to have the spacing correct, and then I zip tied everything together. About 30 zip ties later, the structure is fairly secure. So why three whole stars? The metal pieces are sturdy, and they're the only ones I've found with a small enough grid to be safe for my guinea pig. As much as this set annoyed me, I know I'll purchase more if I need to enlarge my cavy's habitat because I can make it work with zip tie assistance and I'm confident my pet's head won't get trapped between the bars.

grilles achetées pour faire une cavy cage. bon système de connecteurs pour maintenir les grilles entre elles. un peu dur quand même à enlever si on veut modifier la disposition. attention toutefois à ne pas s'appuyer sur une grille qui n'est pas raccordée à une autre car elle se plie vite ......j'ai eu le tour. à part ça, c'est parfait pour ce que je voulais faire.

sono veramente fortissimi! si montano e smontano in un batter d'occhio, molto belli esteticamente non danno l'idea delle solite griglie o reti "povere". Ottimo e straconsiugliato

surprisingly sturdy after they're built! really like the proportions, will work perfectly for my convention display table! if you're planning on doing a different configuration (like two 3-block stacks or two two-block stacks with a little wall attaching the two) you might want to get more plastic joints.

Compré el producto para montar stands en convenciones (colgar posters y demás), y aunque aún no lo he utilizado en ninguna convención, lo poco que he podido trastear en casa me ha parecido de muy buena calidad, muy estable. He probrado otra marca (que no sé cuál es) que tiene una amiga y no tiene esta calidad ni de lejos, ni se monta con tanta facilidad. Muy contenta con la compra.
