It's Not The Best Choice ...It's Spacer's Choice.
A true spiritual successor to "Fallout New Vegas," "The Outer Worlds" is a nostalgic throwback to old school role playing and yet it's own truly uniqu beast. It's appropriate that this game debuted when it did, in the disastrous wake of "Fallout 76," as it celebrates and improves upon the game mechanics that Bethesda was once known for. It's a reminder of what a solid role playing game is supposed to be, and that begins with player agency. There's a tremendous amount of choice right out the gate, starting with a robust character creation menu and continuing on with branching quests and side quests that have impact both immediately and later on in the narrative. The gameplay is solid, with combat and gun play/melee feeling smooth and fluid for the most part. Character progression is rewarding and there was never, ever a point of intolerable grind in the entire 30 hours I spent in my first playthrough. You squad of six companions is composed of colorful, humorous and well written personalities, all of whom feature fantastic voice acting and unique perks / combat abilities (Ellie, Vicar Max and Nyoka were personal favorites). I encountered only a few glitches and bugs playing the game on my PS4 Pro, the only notable instances being a slightly delayed rendering of world textures upon entering a new settlement / port from time to time and the occasional drop in frame rate during intense enemy encounters later in the game. I found myself invested in the world, the characters and the story within an hour of beginning, and that investment only yielded greater returns as I played through. The companion squad selection reminded me of the system utilized by the "Mass Effect" trilogy while the Time Dilatation mechanic was a new twist on the "Fallout" VATS system (oddly enough, especially in comparison to the bastardized VATS mechanic in "Fallout 76, an improvement on the overall concept). The musical score is memorable and loaded with personality while the Everyman vs. Corporate Overlords story is quirky enough to not feel familiar or tired. The art direction, character designs, color palette and overall look of the game is gorgeous to look at, and if anything, you're left wanting more. In fact, if I have one gripe about the game it's that it wasn't long enough. I found myself in the endgame much more quickly than I thought I would, and realized that this was a much shorter experience than I had realized. This doesn't detract from the experience, mind you, but it does leave you feeling that there's an entire third act of the game that was cut for some reason. Perhaps DLC content later on down the line? I hope so. At the end of the day, "The Outer Worlds" isn't a perfect AAA game offering. That may be it's greatest strength, really. There's a lot of heart and soul in this little gem, and a ton of fun to be had. Additionally, there isn't a single microtransaction or slimy monetization tactic to be found anywhere. My hat is off to Obsidian. They gave us an RPG experience that hasn't really been seen since "Fallout: New Vegas" (arguably the best of the modern era "Fallout" games). Here's hoping for a sequel some day that let's us return to Halcyon for another round of Zero Gee vodka shots and adventures. Final Verdict: 9/10

A very solid game
Firstly, I just hope people don’t get discouraged by that one guy saying it’s unfinished and all that mess because I am genuinely having a good time with this game. Alright so to anyone who’s willing to read for a spell, here’s some things I enjoy about it: •6 companions you can utilize. -Each have their own unique skills and varying personalities. -You can deploy 2 of them at a time which is incredibly neat, but not only for combat purposes, but I love the fact that your companions will frequently comment on things happening as well as amongst themselves to indicate a sort of bonding between the characters. •Science weapons! -Science weapons are special weapons you can obtain in the game that do whacky shit basically and they are more powerful depending on how high your science skill is. •Dialogue options -Often times various options for dialogue, not 4 simple yes or no answers. Your character can be witty or funny sometimes, you can be supportive, or sometimes you can just be a dick. Choices are a wonderful thing! •Your choices actually matter. -Pretty self explanatory, this one. •Parvati -One of your 6 companions. She’s an absolute cinnamon roll and you must protect her at all costs. •Companions being affected by your choices. -I.E., if you decide to side with a specific faction, it may change the way your companion feels about you. There’s plenty of more enjoyable things, but I’ll throw in a few nitpicks about the game. None of these are make or break things, however. •No oldies music radio -I like my oldies music, man •No romance option -not a necessary thing by any means, but I would’ve welcomed it. The reasoning behind this is pretty solid though. •No option for 3rd person -Again, not a necessary thing, but I would’ve welcomed it Overall this is solid and I enjoy it a whole lot. Even the nitpicks are just that. I would’ve welcomed the things if they were added, but none take away the experience of what the game is offering you. Please give this game shot if you’ve got money in your pocket and you don’t know where to spend it. It’s worth it.

Nothing groundbreaking, but fun so far.
Received this game on launch day and have played around ten or twelve hours since then. It's an enjoyable distraction if you're not looking for too much. It all feels very familiar. You choose your character's gender and appearance, an initial distribution of skills, and off you go. Leveling up comes often enough, at least so far, and the routine appearance of new weapons and armor keeps things interesting, and makes sure you don't forget to check your inventory. Quests and missions will be familiar to almost anyone who has played an open world RPG. Go there and get that, bring it back. As promised, Open Worlds requires the player to make decisions such as which side of a disagreement they will take. It isn't clear that they substantively change the path of the game but it does encourage you to slow down a bit and explore who you're siding with or possibly offending. I find that more engaging than games where the solution is simply to keep killing stuff until you win. Almost everything feels like it's half a generation behind. Characters stop and face you square-on during discussions, with your response options listed below. Graphics are fine, but nothing spectacular. They aren't as cartoonish as Borderlands. Voice acting is definitely better than some of the competition, with an exception here or there. I guess what boosted my otherwise "it's okay" review was a couple of things. There is a touch of humor, the load times are quite short, and everything works without bugs. It's just a fun, easy, entertaining experience. I guess I was ready for an RPG and Open Worlds came along at the right time.

Similar to Fallout
There is a lot to like about OW: It is a campaign driven quest that is non-linear, and story-driven. You wander across a galaxy exploring worlds, fighting bad guys and looking for items to fulfill your mission. You raid loot, upgrade weapons, and improve character abilities. You pick-up companions, The mechanics and graphics are good. The quest style game feels just right. However, I think there are a few shortcoming to the game that will hopefully be ironed out in a sequel (which I will buy immediately). minor quibbles: -There is too much dialog. The dialogue becomes tiresome after a while, and I found myself skipping whole paragraphs just to get back to the action. blah blah blah -There was too much loot. There needs to be a balance between too much and not enough. In this game, just pick up everything and you win. It is too easy, and loses some satisfaction in finding loot. I find it equally frustrating when there is not enough. There is a delicate balance, and this game has not found that yet. -The fight mechanics are good (great/fun), but, it seems to be fight, fight, fight... get loot... move on to the next town. -Beyond the initial learning curve and levelling-up (about 8 hours in) I became somewhat bored. I started to feel like I was no longer in a survival game, and I think changing the levels from 'normal' to 'hard' only makes the NPC's more numerous and harder to kill, but doesn't increase or decrease the survival function or loot availability.

Worth it, in more ways than one.
Here's the thing about gaming today: Games still cost $60. To keep this on-topic as a review for The Outer Worlds, Obsidian brings ridiculous value for $60, where they're utilizing micro-transactions or 'Story-locked DLC' to boost their bottom line. They've taken the CD Project Red route and made a very good, full single-player RPG for only $60. The intent is that a good game will in-turn produce good sales figures over the life of the console. What's it like? The Outer Worlds is a very good, refreshing, and welcome mix of Mass Effect, Fallout: New Vegas, and Firefly (TV Series). That's the highest praise I can give it. Yes, you can tell it's coming from a smaller team with a smaller budget. Think of this as "AA" as opposed to "AAA". What's "AA"? So you don't see as many exhaustive dialogue options as you might in say The Witcher 3, or Mass Effect 2, BUT, that doesn't mean the dialogue that you do get isn't any good or that it's not rewarding. The dialogue is still plentiful, hilarious, and full of vibrant character. It's cheeky, and if you're paying attention there are a lot of subtleties that really make this game a breath of fresh air (what we all need after 76). Main Quest with side quests and companion quests brought me around 40 hours. As a gamer who has aged a bit now, this is plenty for me to fit into my now-adult schedule. If it was more I certainly wouldn't complain (it would be welcome actually) and that's why I'm reviewing this title. It's great and I want more from their next outing. Thank you Obsidian for being transparent about the game you've lovingly made while promoting it and bringing it to the market. Thank you for your hard work. Thank you for a great game. Please continue to make more. Microsoft, please continue to fund this! And you reader, please vote with your wallet and support these developers. $60 is no longer as simple as $60.

Technical Excellence
I know this is a minor gamer nerd thing to praise, but Outer Worlds fixes SO MANY little gaming annoyances from other games. The amount of times where I was expecting the game to pull up one of those little niggles that every other first person game does, only to have Outer Worlds completely defy my expectations with a more streamlined approach is amazing! You keep running after a jump. Instead of running, jumping, and landing back on the ground at a painfully slow walk, YOU KEEP RUNNING! Which can be the fight winner sometimes! You have a junk category so that you can easily throw things in it for later and then sell them all at once to a vendor. You can almost always find alternate options to any quest! I once stopped a massacre that I thought had no possible resolution, just because I kept trying to make peace and followed all the possible connected quest lines. It was such a thrill to save all of the minor characters I’d grown attached to. And the story is darkly funny, deeply engaging, and a stellar commentary on current society. It’s really worth getting invested in. I was initially turned away because I thought it would be just like Fallout, which had failed to hook me the way I needed it to. But after years and a rather fun online playthrough by Nerdcubed on YouTube, I finally decided to give it a chance. And it’s completely worth it. This game slowly sunk its claws into my heart. I will treasure this for quite a while.

Fantastic game, considering buying the expansion
Entertaining, decent graphics (considering it's on a ps4), award winning story, relatable characters, choose your own play style. Linear RPG styled FPS with melee option. You'll be forced to make tough choices, but you won't really regret much for long. I do like how you can revisit areas and certain enemies will respawn for your grinding pleasure, or perhaps you'd like to test out some new weapons. The game doesn't force you to grind at all though. There are rewards for exploring whether it's some random crates of ammo and refreshment, or a mini-boss. Load times are surprisingly brief Unfortunately the PS4 Pro can't graphically support loading of enemies at great range, so long distance sniping isn't effective. Think medium distance battle rifle. I'm sure it's AMAZING on PC, but it's definitely worth your time on the PS4 No regrets, play it before the tech feels stale in a few years.

Had potential, but ended up underwhelming and inconsistent
I don't like how this game is being described as a "spiritual successor" to New Vegas. It really isn't. Obsidian took what they learned making New Vegas and used that to make their own original IP. I am not saying that this is a bad thing, I love an underdog story. And in many ways, The Outer Worlds is far better than anything that Bethesda put out. Let's start with the positives. I played through this game three times. Once on Supernova, then again on Hard, and finally on easy. I only ran into one glitch. I had some slowdown on my system, but it was kind of my fault. I had my character and both companions with grenade launchers, one electric, one plasma, and one corrosive. It was chaos. The game looks amazing, but the environment isn't really varied. All of the wilderness of the planets look pretty much the same with different colors. The combat is really solid. Like a real FPS, and not whatever Bethesda was doing in Elder Scrolls and Fallout, where moving in combat was just weird. What I found inconsistent is the difficulty. I started off on Supernova difficulty, seeing as it was almost the same as Hardcore mode in New Vegas, and that wasn't a deal breaker. But the combination of "No Manual Saves" and "No Fast Travel" was just mean. One or the other would have been fine, but the combination of the two made Supernova obnoxious and annoying. One wrong move and you were re-doing what could end up as a big chunk of progress. My second playthrough was on hard mode. The difficulty description doesn't really tell you what the differences are, but it seems like the enemies just had more HP, and there were no other changes, which is just a boring way to make a game difficult. The next part I wasn't impressed with was the limited explorable areas. The game only gives you a very small area to work with at a time. Even if you are staying on the same planet, you have to go back to your ship, go back into the planet screen, select a different landing spot, and go about the game. Anothing thing about the environment was that the developers use invisible walls, which is something that we moved away from in games. And there are areas that look like you can jump down onto, but there is an invisible slope and you end up falling all of the way down. You can't have your own, custom waypoints and the map scrolling is incredibly slow. Enemy awareness is just weird and it makes stealth unpredictable. Like, if you are sneaking, and you step on a landmine, every enemy in the area is alerted. But, if you shoot that same landmine instead of walking on it, nobody is alerted. If you are unseen, and you shoot an enemy, and the shot kills them, you stay hidden. If you shoot the enemy, and they survive, everyone immediately knows where you are. The lore is pretty alright. That is all I really have to say about that.

Spacers Choice Indeed.....
Gameplay if great and highly recommended to those who are a fan of space games. Also thanks to the seller as I had received a damaged CD case before but was able to get a replacement that came in perfect condition. It's very rare that you can get a replacement for a PS4 Disc.

Legendas em pt/br
O jogo tem legendas em pt/br. Além disso, o menu todo está em português, muito bom pra construir o personagem, etc e tal. A língua falada é o inglês.
