Sharp, precise, and surprisingly sturdy
I bought these for trimming small wires and plastic sprues, and they’ve been great so far. The blades are super sharp and give a clean, flush cut without crushing or bending the material. I’ve used them on electronics, zip ties, and even some 3D printed parts—no issues. They’re lightweight but don’t feel flimsy, and the grip is comfortable enough for longer sessions. Just a heads-up: they’re not meant for thick or hard wires, so I keep them strictly for precision work. For the price, these cutters punch way above their weight. Definitely a solid pick for hobbyists or anyone doing light electrical work.

Great flush cutters for plastic.
These are small but effective for trimming pieces in model kits and product from 3D printers.

Great cutters for plastic
I bought these (have bought five so far) for Plastic model kit building. These cutters make wonderfully clean, flush cuts that need little sanding afterwards, and they are a great value too at only eight dollars. They are really nice and flush as they claim, which is better than some of the more expensive and popular flush cutters out there. I have to add a disclaimer though, as I use these for cutting plastic model kit parts from sprues, or cutting 3D resin printed parts from supports, these are excellent for that. They would probably be good for copper and brass wire as well. I would not use these to cut steel wire, steel pins, or anything steel really. They are too soft and brittle for this, and I learned that the hard way by trying to cut a steel clothing pin with one of these cutters and leaving a dent on the cutting edge, and breaking off the tip as well. Having said that these are still my favorite cutter for cutting plastic and have purchased at least five in the last few years to have around when I need them.

A bit pinchy
While super sharp and precise, these don't like my hands and tend to pinch them up close to the hinge. It's an ergonomic thing for me. Otherwise the fit & finish are fine, and they're quite sharp and precise. They just don't work well for ME.

Great side cutters / nippers for GUNPLA and minis.
If you're here for affordable side cutters / nippers for GUNPLA or other plastic minis... you're in the right place and can ignore the negative reviews. As of 4/12/25 almost every negative review is from somebody that didn't understand the use cases for this product and misused it. I won't exaggerate and call these fantastic, They don't cut as cleanly as a nicer set and can discolor the plastic, but they still work well enough to get the job done. *For those that don't know what GUNPLA/ or minis are; you're likely looking at the wrong product for your needs and should probably move on and continue shopping elsewhere. These are intended for plastic sprues and very thin and soft wire only. THEY WILL BREAK if used on any other materials.

Hooray!!! Cuts the little sprues of my STEEL cutting dies. Can't yet judge durability...
AT LAST! It nips the sprues/connecting-posts off my STEEL cutting dies. The instructions state that they're not for cutting steel wire, but I looked at the hardness rating, and also noticed that they're a Chrome-Vanadium ("Cr-V") steel allow, and also looked at at how small the sprues are, and decided to take a chance, because the price (under $8 when I got them) was definitely worth it, since anything I found that *was* specifically described at being for "cutting steel wire" was waaaaay too expensive for what I wanted to do, plus, they were too large. With these cutters, the tip is narrow enough to get into small areas, but strong enough to actually nip the sprues. *NOTE*: the sprues will tend to "fly" because of the shape of cutting pliers and the force needed to nip the sprues. So, DO *wear safety glasses*! Also, it's a good idea to do the cutting behind some sort of barrier or enclosure or similar. Even just position everything and then put your hands into a shoebox set onto its side. Just something to keep them from ending up underfoot, or worse!, popping you or someone else. Safety first!!! =;-) ((And yes, I *am* "that person" who reminds others to"wear a sweater" or "take an umbrella"...)) ANYway, moving right along, I do like the size, finding it to be just about perfect: big enough for me to hold onto without them torquing out of my fingers BUT small enough to do the job, and to fit into my "miniature tools" storage. The spring that holds them open is mounted externally, which seems a little bit strange at first, but should work out in the long run, because first, any cutters or pliers I've ever gotten that have leaf springs stuck into handles have always come loose, and eventually have torn through the plastic handle-covering. With these cutters, if the wire spring loosens or becomes less "springy", it's easy to replace. And the handle coating should therefore have a longer life. I have no idea how these will hold up to the task I got them to do, but if they do break or otherwise do poorly, I'll amend this review.

Most precise cutters I've used
These are the most precise cutters I've ever used. When brand new and one is using these cutters for similar materials, this will cut a laser sharp line through paper, thin foils, solid core wire and its insulation. You can hear the cut being made through paper. These are the best cutters for wire and harness assembly that I've found as the cuts are super clean. They are specialty cutters, and they do dull eventually, that rate depends on the materials cut and one's technique. When dull, I replace with a new pair of the same cutters and have done so for years.

Good enough!
These were a chance buy as they are cheap. It turns out that they are pretty good as a replacement of the supplied side cutters with my ender 3 pro. The only reason for 4 stars is because the number of times I've caught my index finger in the area at the top of the handles as they are just a little small. They've got good cutting power for their size and recommended.

Work for my copper wire jewelry
These cutters can get in really close. I use them for wire wrapping and they are great except for one thing. The wire that keeps the 2 sides apart and creates the spring can pinch your fingers near your palm if you're not careful. I have never actually done it because you can feel the pressure immediately. Would buy them again. Great price for 2.
