Excellent
I was a little worried to get this based on reviews of font size being too small but I personally do not see the issue. The font size is smaller and I sometimes have vision issues or headaches but this book is completely fine for me to read with no issues. I think all the reviews complaining about the font size are just people who like to complain about everything. Book is colorful, educational, and fun. Got it for a 5 year old for homeschool but I think it is for a little bit older kids, ages 8-10. But my 5 year old still loves it. Will be getting the Women in Science book soon. Perfect book for homeschool and for showing women can do/be anything.

Inspiring and beautifully illustrated!
The media could not be loaded. I would like to start this review by mentioning that this is our very first book by Rachel Ignotofsky. And it will definitely not be our last. If you buy only one book this year, let this be it. It is full of stories about women of the past that have changed the world in a very unique way through their art. Their biographies are written in an inviting way, with a good balance between facts and story. They encourage and inspire the reader with each page.Things that caught my eye:* The book shows women of all different countries, cultures and religions* The illustrations are gorgeous and really make this book stunning* Many extra resources and recommendations included in the back* Would recommend for ages 6- 99* Makes a great gift/excellent coffee table book!

Cute and informative
I have a teenage daughter and I bought this because we are both into art. Itβs fun to read and interesting to learn more about women in history. (And refreshing!) Entertaining and a fun little read even for adults.

Beautifully Illustrated!
I used this book as a resource for an online class I was teaching about Women Artists...it has some excellent biographical information and covers a wide range of artists, including (not surprisingly) many unfamiliar artists. Was pleased to see Mary Blair and Ruth Asawa included. The illustrations are magnificently done. This would make an excellent addition to any art lover's library or a wonderful gift for a budding artist just learning about artists and their impact on the world.

Creating our curriculum using these books!
After making the choice to homeschool my daughter in this 2020-21 school year, I quickly decided to embrace a women's studies approach. I am using all of the books by this author to help engage my 5th grader and introduce new stories to her. She hasn't yet seen the struggle of women to make their place in the world (or at least be acknowledged for it). As wonderful as that is, I want her to understand the growth that has happened and that still needs to continue. We read through a woman a day and do some brief further study (in this case that usually means searching out their artwork). When we find someone that really sparks her interest, we tackle a more in depth study of the woman, her life, her art, and her journey. I love all the books by this author!
