Extremely Good Upgrade from 1080p@60Hz
1440p@144Hz was my main criteria and this monitor delivers extremely well, on most games the jump from 60fps to 120-144 fps is very noticeable.[Battlefied 4(100-144fps)= Very Noticeable], [CSGO/TF2/L4D2(140-144fps): Very Very Noticeable], [Planetside 2(90-144fps): Slightly Noticeable], [GTA V(90-130 fps): Very Noticeable], [Witcher 3(80-120fps)= Slightly Noticeable], [Skyrim(with ENB mods 100-144fps): Very Noticeable], [Dota 2, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo 3(all 144fps):Barely Noticeable], [Smite(144 fps): Very Noticeable]I have a EVGA 980 ti Super Clocked, some games do require lowering of graphical settings(mostly ultra to high), used adaptive refresh. After experiencing this I much prefer high frame rates than game detail.Frame rates stayed above 100fps in all games, have to look very hard for screen tearing(its there but insignificant) as long as fps is 100+ fps fluctuation is not noticeable. Compared it to a friends G-Sync ASUS ROG Swift(side by side), at those frame rates we could not tell the difference(G-Sync on or off), when fps goes below 70-60 we do notice but that only happens with ultra settings(High FPS>>High Detail). The stand and plug in controller is very high quality, nothing felt cheap, adjustable in almost every direction, I handle the monitor heavily(turning screen), has pull out stick to hang headphones!.Multiple inputs(USB 3, Displayports, HDMIs is big for me, still play on console and watch blu-ray.[The color reproduction] is extremely good for a TN(8-bit!)(I use standard view(Gamma 2,Vibrance 11,RGB 95,99,100), [viewing angle]does have the typical washed out look but only when viewing at a very unreasonable angle for typical usage(45-90 degrees). Compared side by side to my current IPS (ASUS VS239H) the color and viewing angle is not as good but I could not tell unless they were right next to each other. When setting both to best looking settings BENQ looks like its contrast is too high when right next to an IPS.[Blur Reduction](Intensity 1, Area 10) is a very nice feature, the improvement was night and day to me, absolutely necessary for FPS gaming.[Input Lag]: I was able to feel it on the ASUS IPS monitor, only in CSGO and COD(FPS gaming for 10+ years), it actually bothers me.Conclusion: All these results are based on my experience and comparison side by side to a G-Sync Monitor and an IPS monitor. Overall this is by far the best gaming experience I have every had in terms of graphical performance, extremely happy with it.Pros: -27" 1440p, can never go back to 23" 1080p -144Hz w/ Blur reduction and unnoticeable input lag= best experience for high stable frame rates - Fantastic build quality, monitor never shakes!, screen is easy to move around, settings very easy to change with plug in controller - 8-Bit TN panel(not stunning but still very good), better color than low-mid range IPS monitors(old cheap models though), nothing like TN panels from 5+years ago -3 year warranty, FreeSync not tested but in my situation likely unnecessaryCons: -Not Cheap but I believe it was very worth the money(especially with the 515$ sale) -TN panel, I have seen good modern IPS panels(LG UC97, Dell U2713HM), for those I don't need side by side to see the difference in color,if looks and detail(media editing) is much more important and you have the money, I recommend an IPS panel. Will buy when cheaper - You need the firmware(Version 2), to actually use the monitor, get from CD or website, was only able install because I had another monitor

This has been an amazing monitor so far.
I have finally received a good monitor. After ordering and Asus monitor and receiving 3 with defects, I decided to go with BenQ.First one is flawless having no stuck pixels, backlight bleed, or bad osd input. It has very good colors for a TN panel, and I can barely tell the difference from my acer ips panel which is awesome. The colors were a little off out of the box, but with a switch to the standard mode and some rgb adjustments, it looks perfect. The freesync, which has a range of 40 to 144hz, makes gameplay buttery smooth even with large framerate drops in some of these new unoptimized console ports. Another feature i like is the osd controller which connects by usb to your monitor and allows easy osd adjustments when needed. It has a scroll wheel which is used to browse the menu and select settings, a back button, and 3 hotkeys for different monitor profiles you save. I managed to get this monitor on sale, but the price is normally a little steep.Pros: Excellent colors for TN, smooth gameplay with freesync and good overdrive settings, good freesync range, fewer quality control issues than acer and asus for this panel type, osd controls on a handy diskCons: TN if you consider that a con, price a little high, bad colors out of box (fixable, see below)Best settings for my monitor (may have to tweak for your specific one, but good place to start): Standard preset, Brightness 47, AMA high (premium causes negative ghosting), Gamma 3, Contrast 50, Sharpness 5, Red 94 Green 98 Blue 99, Black Equalizer 0, Blur Reduction off, Color Vibrance 10 (preference anything higher than 14 makes things looks awful), Dynamic Contrast 0, other settings at default.

Almost Heaven
I would really like to give it five stars. I want to love it. I really do, but I'm not quite there yet. The build quality is absolutely superb. When you grab the handle to pick it up, it feels like you could use it as a weapon during a zombie apocalypse. Various online reviews have gone all over the technical aspects of this monitor, so I won't repeat those. I have two (2) Sapphire Radeon R9 290's ready for CrossFire/FreeSync, however I painfully discovered the current AMD Catalyst drivers do not support CrossFire with FreeSync, so if I want to see the buttery smoothness of FreeSync, I must disable CrossFire. Ouch. I suppose that is more of a ding against AMD, but be warned. The paint is still very wet on FreeSync. So when I do disable CrossFire to allow FreeSync to do its job, it does have a dramatic affect on the visual quality of games that can't quite keep up with the VSync rate of the monitor. I have also experimented with the blur reduction settings at both 120 Hz and 144 Hz with CrossFire enabled and FreeSync disabled and can attest to an increase in visual quality with an acceptable level of brightness reduction. My only non-AMD FreeSync/CrossFire critique is in relation to what I would refer to as a faint vertical striping or interlacing pattern that is occasionally noticeable at the highest refresh rate (144 Hz). I'm not sure what the technical term is for this, but it's apparently related to pixels having difficulty changing states at the highest refresh rate due to rapid power fluctuations, resulting in a pattern of vertical lines. It's something you probably get used to and I have more or less. The lusciousness of the colors and general rapidity of the display far exceed any negative aspect of this vertical interlacing pattern.I would also mention there is an HDMI 2.0 input (in addition to a 1.x), which so forward looking the video cards I just bought this year don't support it. I'm assuming future generations of video cards will support it to allow full resolution and higher refresh rates over HDMI.I will update my review once AMD releases CrossFire/FreeSync drivers and I have an opportunity to test it out in that configuration.

Received first monitor broken, but still worth ever penny.
I received my first monitor broken with red vertical lines running down the right half of the monitor and was very disappointed. The sad thing is, even though the monitor was broken and needed to get returned, I honestly enjoyed using it so much that it was hard to stop using it long enough to have a new one shipped to me. Returning the broken monitor through Amazon was amazingly fast and I had a new monitor before the week was over. Now that I have a new monitor that isn't broken for just over two weeks now, I just have to say how AMAZING this monitor is. Sure it is a bit pricey, but the visuals are worth every penny. GTA V at 2k 144hz is just breathtaking, and other games look noticeably smoother. The appearance of this monitor is really sharp and the TN panel has some surprising color reproduction. The 144hz refresh rate is really a night and day difference, it's insane even looking at how smooth window's animations are, let alone fast paced game play. I have never written a review before and I have never had to return a broken product, and even so I will give this monitor 5 stars because that is what it truly deserves. If you can afford the monitor and have the GPU horsepower to drive it, then what are you waiting for?

Awesome gaming display for 1440p/144hz with Freesync
Absolutely great display! Its definitely worth getting if you have a Freesync compatible AMD GPU. I've got mine pared with a R9 290X.Very good picture quality for a TN panel, albeit after a bit of tweaking in the settings. I use two ASUS PB258Q displays at work (IPS panel) and I'd say it looks just as good. That is apart from the lower viewing angles, but this a gaming monitor so you'll always be directly in front of it.The default/automatic colour settings definitely look a bit off, but the menu are super easy to navigate with the remote. The display is also very bright by default, blindingly so. First thing I'd recommend though is turning off the annoying beeping when using the menu. The build quality blew me away when I first opened the box. This is a damn fine looking display and it feels super solid. The range of motion on the stand is fantastic. While it wasn't something I knew that I wanted, the pop-out headset rest is incredibly useful!

I really like the number if inputs it has
I really like the number if inputs it has. I have to machines connected via display port and hdmi 2.0 that are taking advantage of the full 1440p at 144hz.I mainly play cs go and can say it did take quite a bit of tweaking to dial in my settings wheras the VG248QE wa smore or less calibrated right out of the box.The s-switch is awesome and very handy for someone with multiple computers attached. In terms of gaming performance, nothing bad to say, it does the job as advertised, though I will say there seems to be some kind of built in darkening over the screen to I guess reduce glare. This works well for competitive games but it does make the screen less bright naturally so watching movies and anime is kinda, well, not the greatest. No backlight bleeding at all also.Overall good monitor but pricey.

Just wow! Turn on digital vibrance for nvidia users. Use the included display port for 144hz.
Before I start, the display comes with a display port cable. As far as I know display port is the only cable capable of 1440p 144hz.The problem you may be thinking to yourself is: this is a TN monitor so will the color be clean and clear enough for my many needs?Answer: Abso-f******lutelyIf you turn on digital vibrancy in your graphics card control panel you will be blown away. For gaming, YouTube, coding etc.. It's all good.On my gtx1080 6700k rig I run most of my games at 100-144 frames per second at 2k. At these resolutions you can turn off AA to save substantial GPS and it still looks SOOO crisp. The colors will blow you away and the details are unreal. The refresh rate is instantly noticibly faster in games compared to 60fps.If you're looking for a good monitor, you should put this at the top of your decision list.
