A: The engine gets its electricity from the tracks,  so it will not run without the track.

A: Hello.  I bought this for my son.  I am not sure what you mean by the track master.  This engine is HO scale.  I would consider it somewhat small.  If you look up HO scale electric trains, you will get a good idea on size.
