Keyecu Replacement Smart Remote Key Fob 5 Button for Cadillac STS CTS 2008-2013

Very fast shipping and works as expected. Programming method works easily. If you have a coupe, you need to use trunk keylock. If maximum keys, you need to reset keyfobs by placing keyfobs 5 feet away from vehicle. Turn key 5 times and press in fake key ignition until it displays 10 min countdown, no fob detected. Do this three times until it says ready to program keyfob #1. Make sure you insert fob top down and keys forward. Once last key is programmed press fake key ignition in to exit Programming. Lastly press unlock on keyfobs to secure code and verify they work.

Great value for the price! So much cheaper than going through the dealer! Programming was simple, I had an existing fob so I didn't have to do the long time consuming way. Literally took 30 seconds to program. You can still program without an existing fob in the US (not in Canada), you just need the physical key and it takes 30 minutes. Anyhow, the CTS owners manual says to put the working fob in the cup holder then get out of the car and put the key in the key hole on the driver's door and turn it to unlock 5 times quickly within 5 seconds. Well my coupe doesn't have a driver door key hole so with a little help from Mr. Internet I found out you have to put the key in the trunk hole and then turn it 5 times quickly. Then, get back in the car and put the new fob in the holder inside the armrest with the buttons facing forward. The display will say programming #3 or whatever number you have, and then it is done. Literally took 5 seconds for that part. Instructions then say to take the new fob out and hit the unlock button twice, then turn the ignition key to on to exit programming. That's it! Worked like a charm for me! Now if I could just get the seat memory matched to the new fob it will be perfect!

At first, the key fob was easy to program and worked perfectly. However, by the second week it stopped starting my car. Now it only unlocks the doors and opens the trunk, and the car says “Key Fob Not Detected.” Very frustrating. I would not recommend this product — just spend the extra money and get a factory one if you can.

I bought one of these for my '12 CTS-V, but I think it fell through the cracks of a poorly-taped Amazon box and never got delivered, and the refund left me still covering the sales tax for an item I never received. Still, I wanted a spare fob so I bought another one. It was very easy to program (following the instructions in the owner's manual) and get to work. My only gripe was what seems to be inconsistent range. For that reason, it is relegated to remain a "spare" and I'll continue to use my beat-up factory fob as my primary key.

I am more than satisfied with this 5-button smart key fob for Cadillac. I didn't think I would find it on Amazon—someone actually recommended it to me. Thank you, Amazon! The price was excellent; I saved a lot of money, as the only additional cost was getting the key cut—and even that was very inexpensive.

I have finally found a fob that works! Some of the ones I have purchased either will not program or they do not tell you that it needs to be programmed by a dealer. This one was programmed already and all the functions work properly .I have been very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it.

Key fob works great, easy to program, saved me alot of money vs o.e.m., however, manual key portion did not work. Ace, Home Depot, and Lowe's could not make a key copy from the original. Went to a local locksmith, who said they could. Before cutting, she said because it was aftermarket, she wanted to measure it first, and it was 3mm difference on the width. She informed me that she could not guarantee functionality. I let her try for $5, but it won't work. Happy with the fob, unhappy with the manual key.

Any locksmith will charge you $300+ to purchase the key and also program it. I purchased the key fob from Amazon because my current key fob would take forever to be recognized by my vehicle. The programming process was pretty simple. 1. Open your door and leave your original key fob in the cup holder 2. Place your key into the driver door and turn it five times until you hear a beep inside the vehicle. DO NOT REMOVE THE KEY. 3. You will hear a beep coming from inside the vehicle followed by a message on the dash. 4. Place the new key fob inside the little slot against the back wall located inside the armrest. 5. Give it a few seconds and it will say that the key is programmed and ready to use. Also I read that certain people are not able to put their old key into the slot of the new key fob. If you take it to a locksmith they should charge no more than $25 to make the key cut but for my case the key that I had fit perfectly inside the new key fob.

When in hand I can open the doors and trunk. I can also lock and unlock the doors. Unfortunately using the key fob I cannot remotely open the trunk nor start the car with the key fob. Sadly the blank key in the key fob is the wrong size and cannot be cut to be able to open the driver side door. I hope Keyecu will be able to remedy these shortcomings. Will let you know. Update: Keyecu sent me a replacement keyfob. Blank key is the right size and all remotes are working. Now five stars ... many thanks.
