Long Time Gamer Thumbs Up!
Wheel/controller/wheel/controller - which one should I use for gaming? Well I have been playing driving sims for years and always used a controller but could never get the lap times down to the next degree - I would stick around the top 10% of the online stats for Forza but never get that little extra! So with all the new consoles coming out I thought it would be a good time to give a dedicated wheel and stand a try and see what I can do. After doing a fair amount of research, it looks like the new PS4 is backwards compatible with the PS3 as far as wheels go so I pulled the trigger on the G27 wheel for PS3/PS4 and the Wheel Stand Pro here along with Gran Turismo 6. Well after a bit of a learning curve all I can say is wow - what a difference! the whole wheel/stand setup really immerse's you into the driving, it's a whole new level of sim driving! It's a blast to use really. As for the quality - it's great, nice materials and great finish. The adjust-ability is practically infinite and you do not need a dedicated race seat or even a office chair or the like to use it - I use it with my home theater recliners and it's great and comfortable - very natural driving positions. I also have it on carpet and zero issues with stability - it stays pretty rock solid through the most grueling 180's or hard braking - no problem! Assembly is straight forward, but the instruction are a bit vague for the foot pedal platform, but just youtube it and it will walk you through the assembly - about 20 minutes start to finish line. It comes with a fairly long usb cord to connect to your PS3, but I ended up getting an 6' usb extension to get it where I needed it - and no issues with the longer distance (I think 10' is about as far as you can go with the extension). You can set the pedal position up so the wheel post folds down between the accel and brake pedals, but I prefer a more centered position so it folds down right on the brake pedal - no big deal. Here's a tip when setting up the first time - Don't secure the cables to the frame until you have it setup to where you will be using it, get it fully adjusted, pedals, wheel, angles and elevations - THEN get your zip or velcro ties (they don't send enough imo)and secure the wires to the down tube and floor rails -you'll have a much cleaner install and less tangle hassle when moving it around. All in all great and fun too!

Does the job it's designed to do. Great product.
I have a plastic folding table from wallmart that serves as my computer table. I had an "Ah-hah!" moment when I tried to mount my G27 hardware to it. It wouldn't really mount because the clamps would actually bend the plastic of the table. I am very grateful for this wheel stand. The stand is very heavy and sturdy, which is a good thing. There's still a little bit of shake when throwing the wheel around in a racing game (I played Dirt 3 with it), but nothing I'm worried about, as I usually play Euro Truck Simulator 2 and don't experience it. For me, setup was a bit difficult, as I initially tried to mount the gear shift plate in the lower position. I discovered that this didn't allow my knees enough room to clear it when sitting in a straight backed chair, so I had to take everything apart and do it over again. So if you're using this with a straight backed chair and a computer table, you might want to consider mounting the plate in the higher position. Other than that, most of the tools needed to assemble the stand are included. You will need a Phillips to mount the shifter plate to the steering wheel plate. There are a lot of cords depending on the wheel hardware you use, but if you make use of the included zip ties, cord management is not a problem. The only dangling cords I have are the cord to the power brick and the usb cable, which are unavoidable and not the stand's fault. The stand folds up for storage which is nice. If you have the g27, the brake pedal is in the way, but their video seems to suggest placing a piece of cloth on the pedal, pressing the pedal down and letting the stand press against the cloth and pedal. I have enough room in my closet that I just fold the stand down far enough so that it doesn't depress the pedal. My only real issue with this stand is the price, which I've seen echoed among many of the other reviews. It was worth it for me, as I'm not mechanically inclined enough to make my own.

Great Product / EXCELLENT Customer Service
I bought this stand for my son as a birthday gift. I was questioning how durable the stand would be, since it only weighs 18 pounds. Not a problem. This stand is extremely well constructed of tubular steel and not only looks good, but is without a doubt, very sturdy and works well for the intended application. The easiest way to describe this stand is "rock solid". Once out-of-the box, assembly (assembly is overstated - as little is required) was very easy and quick to complete. All of the necessary hardware and tools were provided to complete the task. The stand is portable, and can easily be folded and moved to a different room or closet if you need to clear space for guests or do your housecleaning. I can't say enough regarding the construction and durability of this stand, again, weighing only 18 lbs. The only thing that might be better than the stand itself is the customer service provided. In a word, Lucy was EXCELLENT. With all of the positive attributes noted for this stand, and I am sure that I am missing points, unfortunately, unique to our situation, my son did not have the space to effectively use the stand. It does not require a large footprint by any means, but we have an extremely constrained space to use this in. As a result, we had to request a return. Not to worry. I contacted Lucy, and she advised me how to proceed to request a return. Once the proper forms were submitted to Amazon, within just a few hours, our request was approved and return shipping documents provided. I actually received a follow-up email from Lucy reminding me to get the product shipped back, to ensure it was received and a credit could be processed. I received a notice from UPS that the product had been delivered on a Friday evening, and by the afternoon of the next day, a notice from Amazon that a credit had been processed. I only wish any business we deal with would provide such customer centric focus.

Well made and sturdy product with just one minor concern that you can DIY.
Note: I’ve an Logitech G29 wheel set. This review is based off that. Item is very sturdy and compact, and well made. The wheelbase and the shifter installation is very good and secure. Taking a single star off only because the installation of the pedal base is only secured by a single screw. This might become a concern if there is lot of foot/pedal movement that is ‘heavy’ per-se. To mitigate this, after installing the base pedals with the single screw I’ve used tie racks to secure it further. And that seems to work well. Overall if space is a concern then this is a fantastic starter rig. I’ve it in front my couch and it’s comfortable. The bar in the middle is not an issue. I’m 6’0 tall and the bar sits between my thighs. I’m freely able to use the pedals no issues. The options to configure just the right height are very good. Can move it up/down, tilt it towards you and away. All in all I’m happy with this stand. If you take care of your things then this will last a long time. Good product.

I should have bought this a long time ago
I have been wanting a proper wheel stand for many many years but always had a hard time justifying the price to myself. I finally broke down and bought this for my new Logitech G920. This is one SOLID piece of kit. I really wish I had purchased one several years ago when I was using my G27 on my PC. There really isn't anything out there that I can see that would be better than this if you don't want an entire racing seat/stand setup. The kit came will all of the tools needed to set this up and adjust it just how you want. It includes a non-adjustable wrench, two allen wrenches, all the nuts and bolts that you need, and the optional plate to mount the shifter if you have one. The instructions are printed on nice laminated paper. There's also a youtube video that you should watch on setting it up and adjusting it. I didn't watch it at first and I missed a few things. All in all, it took me about a half hour to set up the stand with the wheel and adjust it to my liking. Wheel Stand Pro has really thought of everything in designing this stand. It's rock solid when driving. The weight of the stand combined with the wheel is probably somewhere around 20 lbs. I don't use it with the shifter (yet), so that will probably add a couple more lbs. Even at only 20 lbs, this thing doesn't rock when you thrash your wheel from side to side. It stays planted on my carpet even when pressing down really hard on the brake pedal. The chair I sit in will move backwards before this stand will slide. It's that solid. The Logitech wheel permanently attaches to the main plate with two bolts that screw directly to the wheel base. Then you just tighten the normal wheel grips and it won't move a bit. The wheel position is completely adjustable by changing the height, pole angle, and wheel level. I had no troubles at all getting a comfortable position when using that insanely comfortable Ikea chair (you know the one). The pedals rest on two tubes that have 4 adjustable rubber feet that can be moved to sit directly under the 4 corners of the pedal base so the plastic doesn't come in direct contact with the metal tubes. This makes noise and vibration non-existent. The pedal base can also be moved forwards and backwards along the tubes and then permanently locked in place. Some people have mentioned that their leg hits the center pole when using a single foot for the accelerator and brake pedals. My leg does touch the pole, but it's not so bad that I can't hit the brake pedal. In fact, I barley even notice it. It's really not an issue at all for me. On the other hand, I've recently started racing with both feet because I find it quicker than using just one. Racing this way, my legs don't touch the center pole at all. On the bottom of the base, there is a straight metal bar that screws directly into the pedal base which also keeps it permanently in place on the wheel stand. This same bar also holds the power brick for the wheel in place too, so that it's not even visible when in use. It seems as though it wasn't necessarily designed with that in mind though. It's almost as if someone just happened to notice that the brick was just the right size to put in some empty space and it will stay there. Still, it's a nice touch. Just make sure you don't tighten it TOO much so that the plastic in the power brick doesn't crack. The lot also includes a couple of wire ties to keep the wires close to the poles. I ended up using a few more just to keep things a bit more tidy. When not in use, you can lower the stand (without the need for tools) so that it can be easily stored without taking the whole thing apart. It's not exactly flat so you can't put it under a bed, but its compact enough to easily move out of the way or even into a closet if you have the space. I'm really happy I finally have one of these to race with. I just wish I had bought one a long time ago.

Solid, Well-Built Stand
This is an expensive product. It is only a stand to mount your steering wheel/pedals/shifter on. However, you get what you pay for. In the past, my experience with steering wheels for gaming was always limited by what the steering wheel was mounted on. And not to mention brakes that would skid away from me because the carpet couldn’t hold them when I slammed the brakes. This mount is not only durable, but makes it easy for me to store the whole rig away. Having to mount/dismount the steering wheel and shifter from a table was a pain previously. Now I just move the whole thing into another room/closet when I’m not using it. And all o have to do when I want to play is take the whole rig out and plug it into my console. This is just as costly as the whole steering wheel/pedals set. But if you’re going to get a stand at all, this is the one to get. Wheel doesn’t move, pedals stay exactly in the same place the whole time, and the shifter is where you need it to be. Not to mention the various ways to configure the height and depth of the stand for your size and preference so you’re confortable. No more hunching over or having your arms to high because of improper placement of the wheel/pedals due to the unadjustbe table you mounted it on. Thanks Wheel Stand Pro! P.S. If you have the shifter, you have to mount it before the wheel. I didn’t realize this and had to undo my work and redo it again. It took me about 30 mins to get everything set up with my wheel stand pro (including cable management).

Just amazing - from the build to the tiny things that impress
Wow! This stand is the kind of thing I would have built in engineering school if we had the G27 in the early 90's. It's incredible. I'll go over all the great things first and then the very few minor irritations that don't detract from the product at all. Pros: Build quality - It's 18lbs of tubular steel and while that doesn't sound like much, I doubt anyone could make this shift on the floor while using it. Since the frame connects the steering and the pedals, you actually make it more solid with your feet on the pedal floor and your hands on the steering wheel. It is like a rock even playing more spirited games like the Need for Speed series. Mounts - I was worried about limiting each component to two mounting screws, but that has proven to be plenty. The components don't shift on the plates even with heavy use. Foldability - I've attached pictures, but you can fold the unit down easily because of the quick clamps. If you don't want to press your brake pedal down, you can clamp it shut just before it hits. If you don't mind holding the pedal down, you can use a piece of foam to protect the pedal. Ease of use - the quick clamps were a great touch. It really makes getting the whole thing "closet ready" a snap. I can set it up in less than a minute and take it down in the same time. Cons: The power brick solution - The "solution" to hold the power brick isn't great since it's just a friction hold on the underside of the pedal unit. Can't really fault WSP for that, though. Height - I'm not tall but my desk is, so while this is the perfect height if you're sitting on the couch, it's a little low for high desks like mine (32"). An extra four inches on the center tube would have been great, but it's still perfectly usable. One missing quick clamp - the top plate that holds the steering wheel and shifter needs two wrenches to set the angle. While this isn't something you would adjust as much as the height or folding axis, it's still a pain. A quick clamp for that plate would have been nice. However, since the tube is so thick and the contact area between the plate mount and tube is so small, this probably wasn't a viable option. Overall, I would almost consider this a required purchase if you buy a G27 and don't want to build your own stand for it. Sure, it's expensive, but it's worth every single penny. It is put together well enough to survive the next 50 years, and if I ever get another wheel it will be relatively easy to just drill new holes wherever required. This stand is that solid.

Does what it says on the box.
I play a lot of casual driving games, and frequently stream, and was getting a number of complaints of "grinding noises" when I used my G29 Logitech Wheel. Rather than move the microphone off the desk, I decided that a wheel stand would work better for me, as my desk serves dual purpose for gaming and professional business programming - so I cannot leave the wheel permanently on the desk. I researched a number of different wheel stands (and also some mic stands) and finally settled on this one for function and value for money. Set up was relatively painless, and mounting the wheel and peddles went without a hitch - I do not use the side stand for gearshift, so I cannot comment on that. A couple of cable ties are provided to keep the cabling out of the way. When not gaming the stand can be folded down and pushed to the side under the desk. It is stable for the purposes I use it for (farming simulators and trucking simulators) and it has reduced the wheel rumble noise through the microphone - though I do need to make sure that the wheel isn't in contact with the desk or the noise is evident on streams (but that's more my issue, than it is a problem with the stand). I've not had any serious problems, but there are some annoyances. The bar supporting the wheel component can get in the way of foot peddle operation in some seating positions, but you kind of get used to it. And it could use a few more cable ties - you get 2, But I think I could use a couple more to help secure the cables better. I like how it's made the setup/takedown process a lot easier, and being able to use a pair of provided screws to attach the wheel, rather than just rely on the friction clamp has made the wheel mount far more secure. In some ways it has exceeded expectations, and made my gaming experience a lot more enjoyable. And I think my viewers are far more appreciative of the lack of rumbling noises on the streams/videos.

Excelente producto

Excellent wheel stand
Bought it to replace a homemade tabletop-style stand I'd been using for too long. The stand arrived promptly and well packaged. Set-up was easy, all tools provided. Assembled in 20mins. Feels great. Good and sturdy. No wobbles. Fits my G29 wheel, plus pedals, plus manual gear shifter. (Shifter can be mounted on the left or the right.) Really good product which I anticipate using for years. Fully adjustable height, reach and tilt. I'm 5'11" and use a soft dining chair. All works well. Minor snag: cable tidying requires a little thought if you're a neat person. Other than that I would highly recommend this product. Top job!
