California Umbrella

It does its job... but I am sad about its durability. We have owned this for three years and use it during each summer probably 10 times - so it has been put up and taken down maybe 30-40 times. Last week it wouldn't collapse and I found that the gear for the crank had worn out. For the price I expected more. I will have to buy a new frame so the nice sunbrella umbrella doesn't go to waste.

Looked nice and started out good. The joints were very wobbly. After a few months the entire thing snapped in half at the joint and if we were not sitting under it at the time in order to catch it, it would have damaged the table. Contacted california umbrella with no response.

So far, I am very pleased with this umbrella. I would say the color is more of a tan than a beige. The picture is pretty accurate as far as the color goes. We are replacing a 10 foot non-tilting umbrella and notice quite a big difference on the amount of shade this 11 foot umbrella gives. This is used on a rectangle table that seats six and does a very ample job of shading the entire area. Also it blocks the sun streaming into the room off the patio. The collar tilt is very convenient. Just turn the collar above the crank to tilt. We haven't had it long enough to comment on durability and how it stands up to a breezy day, but it seems to be of good quality. The tilt does wonders on our patio, as the south and west sun can be very uncomfortable since our patio is on the south side of the house. We are using a cast iron umbrella stand that seems to be heavy enough to support the size of this umbrella although I don't know how much the stand weighs. I would recommend, however, keeping it down on windy days and over night. Hopefully we will have several years of durability.

Best umbrella ever! Looks brand new after sitting in full Florida sunshine for four months. Worth every penny!!!
