Love it
I don’t normally write reviews. But I’ve gone through every mouth guard out there it seems and I bring through them. Or they are big and bulky and uncomfortable to wear. I was skeptical about this, but it’s PERFECT. It gets hard and doesn’t move during the night. Already helps with tension headaches. 10/10 recommend for teeth grinders!

Work Great
These are my favorite guards to use at night for teeth grinding.

nightmare
I had high hopes for this product. Nice concept, good pricepoint.Apparently, you need to get the shape PERFECT on the 1st or 2nd try of the heating process, otherwise a disaster ensues. "Remolding up to 20 times" is false marketing. This thing stretches and loses its chemistry after the first one or two tries. Is there a temperature that ruins it, somewhere close to boiling? If so, is Sova willing to share what that temperature is?On my 1st attempt I followed the instructions to a T, heated the water to the prescribed temperature -- even digitally measured it with a thermometer -- then, when I removed the mouth guard from my teeth, a portion of the back had stuck to itself. I place it back into the water but failed to get the back piece unstuck with a knife. So I decided to live with the imperfection and attempted to get the shape "good enough" for use. On my 2nd attempt, I noticed the little round holes had started to stretch after removing it from the water. The shape came out wrong again. I inserted back into the water. By this point the mouth guard had visibly stretched and no longer would revert to its normal shape/chemistry no matter what the water temperature. The round holes had become permanent lines. It was unusable. On the 5th try or so, I eventually cut the grossly stretched back portions with scissors, heated all of it in the water, and stuck the cut pieces to the top of the guard to try to rebuild its shape & ply. Eventually, it felt like I was working like play dough. Hours later, having swallowed plenty of plastic fragments that hopefully won't kill me, I eventually gave up. I now have an unsightly, blob of a nightguard that fits my teeth, but cuts my gums due to the irregularities and sharp edges.49 people found this helpful

Happy overall
It is not as ease to get it to fit as I believed. Overall I am happy with it.

I went out of my way to leave this great review, y'all.
TMJ. I have it. Chipped tooth, ER visit for jaw pain. Three custom grind guards from the dentist over the years. The most recent guard broke a couple months into pandemic lockdown. So I ordered a handful of different grind guards from Amazon to try and hold me over - this one, front teeth only, disposable, etc.I NEVER write Amazon reviews (who has the time?), but decided it was my DUTY to do so when I returned to the page to buy another one. Because this thing is just great. Hands down, an answer to my TMJ-suffering prayers. The SOVA people should be saluted for it, and if you aren't sure if it's worth it, I can tell you that (at least in my case), it was worth it 10 times over. Here's some highlights:- Easy to fit, and really comfortable. Also, SO COOL that you can REmold it to your teeth if the first try doesn't quite do it for you.- Mine lasted two years with nightly use. The only reason I'm replacing is because I've finally ground to the point it's scratching my cheeks. NOTE: This cheek scratching also happened with at least one of the dentist's guards. I did not grind through it - honestly, not even close - and I DID grind through at least one of the dentist's guards.- The cost was worth every penny. Especially after having paid over $100 dollars out-of-pocket in the past for a guard from the dentist.I'm very suspicious of Amazon reviews - especially positive ones. So to be clear, I'm an actual human person who did NOT receive anything in exchange for this review :) Sometimes a little thing can make a big difference in your life, and this guard has been that little thing for me, even though I never would have expected so when I was looking the first time.

Mediocre after sleeping with it
I'm an extreme clencher. I do it at least 22 hours a day, evem cracked a molar right in half during a particularly stressful couple of days. The fit seems weird to me. Guard seems too small, not long enough...I had child instructions in mine so maybe they are passimg off child soze as adult?? It doesn't seem long enough to cover my back molars. On my second try at molding, I did what another reviewer said and stretched the ends some, seemed to help a little. I have a pretty average sized mouth. It feels meh for now. I'll update after I sleep with it. I've decided to use this until I get ones that take an impression of my mouth. So it's temporary and better than nothing.Update: I've slept with it now for 2 nights. It pulls on my front teeth and feels too tight even though I was extra careful not to suck too much when fitting it. I do sleep fine with it and I do believe it's protecting my teeth because I didn't wake up with jaw pain. I will still be throwing it in the garbage once I get a better fitting one. Perhaps a truly adult size would be perfect.

A great alternative to $800 mouth guards from the dentist
This is my second one of these. I've had the first one for several years and decided to replace it, not because the original was worn out but because it just felt like it is something that should be replaced from time to time.I grind my teeth at night and my dental hygienist recommended this when I balked at buying a guard from the dentist for $800. She said these do the same thing for a lot less money. I can definitely feel the difference and the wear on my teeth has been much reduced.Molding them was a breeze. The included instructions were clear and easy to follow. The end result is a custom mouth guard at a fraction of the dentist price. Couldn't be more pleased.
