How to Read Tarot: A Modern Guide

I am extremely happy with this Tarot card reading book. It has been criticized for being simplistic; well, I like it that way. As a beginner the number of cards to learn and the different meanings seemed overwhelming. Jessica made it understandable by giving us the basic meanings of the cards. To me this is not overly simplistic. I myself can pick up on the nuances of meanings and put them in context, I just wanted some instruction as to where to begin with the cards. Okay, so the format of the book is beautiful with lots of color and thick pages. What I especially like is, I bought a tarot book prior to this one and the cards were not shown in the description of the card, so I had to find the card in my deck, which I had already shuffled, to see the picture on the card. With Jessica's book there is a color picture of each card on the page with the description. Then she gives a very brief explanation of the card, which hits right at the heart of the meaning of the card, and then elaborates on that with how to apply the card in the context of a love, work/career, or personal/spiritual spread and then how that meaning changes if the card is reversed (I'm saving the reversal meanings for after I get the upright meanings.) This book gives me everything I need to get acquainted with the cards and begin to develop communication with my intuition and my loving and amazing guiding forces. Definitely would recommend for beginners wanting to do the same.

Love this book. So easy to use and written well. Great reference book. I’ll take little tidbits from this and write them into the guide book of my deck just to have on hand!

I recently purchased this amazing Tarot Card Book to help me read my new tarot cards an I’m extremely impressed and satisfied with this book! It has so much back story an history of tarot it has all the meanings an many ways to spread your cards! I love how it shows tarot’s link to astrology, numerology, and Kabbalah! This book is very in-depth about tarot in general an how to interpret the readings! I love the attention to detail an to the art! I absolutely recommend this book! My husband an I do readings for each other an we enjoy looking up the meanings in this book! It has regular reading of the cards an in reverse, also love an spiritual an career wise! I’m fascinated with this book I can’t put it down! It’s perfect for beginners an professionals alike!

I have just started on the Tarot universe and I found this book. The writer has a nice and easy understanding context, and I repeatedly go after the meanings of the cards. It also has a quick guide if you just need to take a peak on the main highlights of the cards. it will also explain the different set up of the cards. recommend it for beginners

I enjoy Jessica’s YouTube channel very much so. Her style of reading the cards with an astrological perspective. I thought she was going to integrate her astrological knowledge to the cards interpretation. The book is for someone who is new to tarot. I like that she provides for each card General, love, career, and spiritual interpretations. I definitely recommend this book for someone who is starting on their journey. It is not a read for an experienced tarot reader since the book is very basic.

I'm fairly new to Tarot, and I bought a few books (because I couldn't tell which one I would like best). I spent some time working and reading through each book. This one resonated the most with me, I'm drawn to the elements, and this book ties to that. This book is also an easy read, the author gives personal experiences and share's what works for her, but reminds you that this is your journey and encourages you to follow your intuition and your own path; she is simply providing guidance. I like how she laid out the book as well, at the back is a Quick Reference guide providing hi-level Card Meaning Charts (which I started using and adding my own notes to, I also used the blank pages in the back to add my own element notes to). I quickly saw this book would be primary go to resource. I found this book to be an excellent and well rounded first start and highly recommend to anyone looking for the same.

bought this as a gift for my friend as she reads tarot cards. She does a wonderful job and this book helps give her new ways of reading them and good layouts for the cards. She says she loved it! And that’s all that matters.

Super easy to read and to come back to for clarifications. Good for someone who is just starting and for those that want to know more. Jessica is amazing explaining about the tarot, I reccomend also watching her Youtube channel.

I was sceptical about buying this book, but now I am really happy with my purchase. The book starts with how to get connected with the cards, how to do reading for others etc. The book gives us detailed card meanings for Love, Career, Spiritual, and Reversed meaning along with General meanings- a paragraph each. The only drawback is the book doesn't cover astrological correspondences and numerology, but it's okay there are other books available in the market which covers it.

Am new to Tarrot reading , but this book is so easy and clear that it’s hopefully going to make my learning easier and fun . Absolutely for the total beginner….
