My Sega Genesis 2 is in HD looking better!!!
I'm just amazed how this solved my issue on a FHD portable monitor. Old school games wasn't made to be play on Modern HDTV or FHD portable monitor etc. In this picture, I'm showing sonic the hedgehog 3 for the Sega Genesis 2 model. Using the AV composite cable on an Modern FHD portable monitor. You see the rainbow Bands artifact. I put a red arrow on the picture. And in icecap zone you see the rainbow Bands artifact again, while using the AV composite cable on a modern FHD portable monitor. I also put the red arrow in the picture. So, I was able to find a fix for this, for me. I found pound technology. This help me. Now on the other picture you see the new improve look and icecap zone you don't see any rainbow Bands artifact. I mean, I know there's other expensive options with More improvement with the Sega Genesis 32X it won't show the correct color. it will be so bright. Don't buy this product if you have a 32x You can Buy Like the Rad2x, Retrotink2x, ossc, HD retrovision cable etc those will work good on the Sega 32x especially the Radx2. I'm just happy how it looks to me on the Sega Genesis 2. It feel like I'm playing this on an emulator for PC like I use to do. It's very clear an crisp.

Shocked!
I was absolutely blown away by the quality and function of this product when considering the sticker price. I honestly think there is no comparison with any other product that meets this price point and in my opinion it beats out a lot of the way more expensive options that are out there. Pulls RGB directly, I mean come on most of the others are all just composite upscalers and the flexibility of use is apparent when testing it with other game systems that have a din or mini din a/v out, for example the neo geo and turbo grafix 16. It is not advertised as being compatible but if the systems natively output rgb and have the right output port it seems to work perfectly, though not recommended by the company. I could not recommend this product more highly for anyone wanting to have a cheap and easy option to play on modern TVs and/or record video with a capture card. Pleasantly surprised and extremely satisfied with the money spent, a great buy!

Good bang for the buck that will satisfy most people
I had my original genesis model 1 hooked up via RF, and it looked tragically bad. Composite helped improve the picture quality, but my new 4K TV doesn’t support any analog inputs. Instead of trying to go the expensive route via component cables and a scaler, which would run a minimum of $150, or the never in stock RAD2X for the genesis, I thought I’d give the $30 pound adapter a try. Pros: -Cheap and available -Huge improvement over RF/composite video output. It taps into the RGB signal and delivers very clean video out out with the exception of jailbars (model 1 genesis only, not Pound’s fault) -separation between converter dongle and HDMI cable allows for use with other HDMI cables -Hooks into modern TVs with no fuss! Cons: -contrast is higher than it needs to be, and the colors seem to be a little washed out as a result as well as some loss in detail. I think the need to recheck how they are driving each channel of RGB and tune this a little better. -requires external power -no stereo sound dongle for model 1 systems -construction could be a little nicer (metal housing for the adapter instead of plastic, with some thermal pads because I noticed it does get quite warm) Overall I’d give it a 4/5 purely on price-performance ratio. Its not the best solution for the genesis, but it certainly is the most convenient. I wish Pound could get together with the author/creator of retrotink and build the best possible solution together, and mass produce it. I’ll probably give their other adapters a try at some point. Full disclosure: I was not paid for this review, nor was I given the product to review. I purchased with my own money to give an honest review.

Looks fantastic, no lag at all
The Sega Genesis, like all Sega consoles, has a RGB output that us Americans really can't take advantage of without some high end equipment - but this cable converts that to a modern HDMI signal and the results are fantastic with no lag that I can notice. I tried out Ghouls 'n Ghosts, a game I've played hundreds of times on a CRT, and results are fantastic - everything felt exactly how I expected, yet it looked like I was playing a emulator as the graphics were so crisp. I used this with a Sega Nomad, which is based on the model 2 Genesis, and on battery I had no issues with signal drops or anything. In the box you also get a model 1 converter. I'm really impressed by this - I've never used or even seen the RGB out on the Genesis, and it's great. Make sure you have gaming mode on your TV, or better use a gaming low latency monitor for best results. Also with these cables on other devices I've seen people complain about dark images - well no issue here, with my default settings left in place on my monitor the image looked great. Another thing I've seen with other cables is people saying the image contrast was too high and you'd lose image detail - and again, no issue here. Again, the best way to compare the video for those that haven't used RGB output on this system is that i looks like a good emulator in the best way possible, meaning zero lag, perfect picture quality, no noticeable video noise.

Great for console play on a modern TV/Monitor
Picture is really clear compared to the analog input. Works great with the Genesis 1, works with the Mega Everdrive. I couldn’t get it to work with the 32x, unfortunately.

Finicky cable, works some of the time and seems overpriced for the issues that come with it.
This cable preserves a 4:3 ratio unlike some others out there that stretch the image to 16:9. There might be a way around this, but it seems like the pound sends out a 16:9 signal and just adds black bars to the side. Not really an issue if you just want to play a Genesis on your HDTV, but might be an issue if you are capturing the game play on a computer for streaming. At least on my Gen 1 Genesis, the cable is really hard to connect and doesn't seem to want to sit correctly and I have to shove it in hard (almost as if the pins are just a little bit off on size). I've come back to see that the cable fell out despite how hard I had to shove it in to begin with, and I've also had to replug it in when the video was missing a color or otherwise messed up. On at least one occasion the pound seemed to not even be sending a signal and I had to unplug everything and reconnect it to work (this might have simply been my capture card, though). The pound box is powered by a USB cable. It does not come with a wall plug for this cable, but my power strip has USB connections, so not a big deal. This box also is warm and always on. Not sure if there are any dangers to sending a hot signal to an HDMI port 24/7. When a the Genesis is not on, you just get a "no signal" box on the screen, and as far as I know the pound does not go into sleep mode if not used for a while (maybe it does, and that would explain the time I had to unplug and reconnect it to get a signal). Overall, the cable does what it needs to do, sends an upscaled 4:3 aspect ratio over HDMI. The cable just feels more like one of those no name Chinese adapters, but with a premium price tag.

Klare Kaufempfehlung - klappt!
Also eingesteckt, Power on am SEGA und voila läuft.

Good picture but audio problems
Picture is good but after an hour of playing there is a loud hiss in the audio. Feels like unit gets very hot.
