Pentair PCB Enclosure, Max-E-Therm NAT./LP, with Topside

I have the StaRite Max E Therm 400,000 BTU pool heater and it was 10 years old. I could tell for a couple of years that the membrane contacts were getting worn as it wold not always respond requiring me to repush buttons on the pad. Turned the unit on this spring and when it was time to turn it off, it wouldn't turn off. Doing some reading on line and others had the same symptoms. I did replace the membrane and it fixed the problem. The replacement membrane only has a six pin, but my control board is a 9 pin. As long as you connect the plug on the correct 6 pins it will work. Directions I received with the replacement kit were easy to follow, and it took me about 40 min to replace. Works great and I am back in business. Very pleased with the purchase! On a final note, I was lucky because the control board is below the membrane. My old membrane had some cracks in it and that allowed moisture to get on the control board. If you suspect moisture could be getting below the membrane, Don't wait to replace it. It could keep your control board from becoming damaged.

Easy to install and worked great

Easy to install (<15 minutes total) and is currently working properly. However, UPS told me 4 times that it was out for delivery on the truck in my town on 11 March but it wasn’t delivered until 14 March. Needless to say I was perturbed at not having the spa working for a get together. Oh well, product seems to be working fine with the short test run I performed.

Wrong item

I ended up returning this For just the display membrane. All this offers is a replacement molded plastic top, which I didn't need. The product is built well though, very sturdy- I just didn't need the top.

Looks great. It was a direct replacement and fits perfectly. Didn't completely solve my problem as I still need a control board and thermistor. But this part is doing its job.

I am lucky to get 3-4 years out of one of these control boards. I will start by saying that my heater was unresponsive when I pressed the keys. It would not turn on or off and i could not control the temp. The water temp was lit up but the buttons were not working. I was not sure if i needed this control board or if i needed a new mother board. This control board solved my issue. The back of my old electrical board has 9 pins. The wire loom for the new control board has 6 pins. The instructions sho how to position the 6 pin to match the 9 min properly. The thing to not here is that the 6 pin model new part will not allow you to use remote automation for your pool heater. I do not have this remote automation for my pool so the replacement worked out great but if you do have remote automation, this part will not work. In essence, with this part you can only adjust the pool temp on this control board pad that rests on the heater itself. Otherwise, the part worked great and fit. Easy to install. Did not come with the tinted lense to protect the keys. But the old one snapped right on.

I was surprised how easily and quickly I could replace this panel. It arrived on time and ten minutes later, I had removed to old one and placed the new one on the unit. Four screws and two clips to remove, plug it in, and replace screws and clips. Very easy. The Nevada sun was hard on the last panel. So I am glad that this part was easy to order and easy to install.
