The Chic Girl's Guide to a One-of-a-Kind Wardrobe: Altering and Embellishing Hemlines, Sleeves, and More Paperback – August 13, 2013

Kristina is one of the most stylish and feminine young ladies of our day. I have never seen her an outfit that I didn't just absolutely love! When I heard about the 'Chic Girls Guide' my first thought was FINALLY!! I love the way that she addresses ways to alter clothes that you may already have, or that one cute outfit you just had to buy even though it was missing something. This book has inspired me!! I like that the tutorials are step-by-step with pictures. This book is a must-have for those that are experts, like Kristina, or those that are trying to teach themselves.

Lots of beautiful pictures about how to alter your clothes, particularly geared to making clothes more modest--sleeves, length--as well as just embellishing clothes and accessories. You get to see what she started with and how it ended up looking, but written in such a way that makes application to your particular needs easy. The ideas are adorable, well-explained--she tells you what to look for in a garment to make the changes effective and professional. I get ideas just flipping through the book. Not overly technical, it's all about functionality. LOVE!

Many great sewing ideas.

Just the front cover alone of this book will have you wanting to pick it up. The pictures are crisp and clear and it's an enjoyable read even if you might not find yourself comfortable around the sewing machine. It will spark an idea for any age and add some prettiness to their wardrobe. And you might find yourself racing to get your sewing machine out of the box covered with a couple years worth of dust - because it will have you ready to create something fun!

I absolutely love this book. So many times I've looked at things in the store and wished I had an easy way to make it modest! Kristina's book helps you figure that out. Not only are her ideas modest but they are stylish as well. My husband even finds things in the store and says 'Cant you fix this by using Kristina's book??'!

I just recently got this book and am loving it already. It has beautiful pictures to help you along with your projects and has all around GREAT ideas for refashioning those clothes that you just aren't comfortable in. This book will also give you inspiration to go beyond the tutorials and try your own ideas! Buy this book, you won't be disappointed.

This book is a huge let down. A complete waste of money. I don't know why it's called Chic. All of the ideas are very very basic. The models are mostly teens because the cloths are childish. Don't get me wrong, I don't think a woman needs to show off all her flesh, but this is over kill. I really can't believe Kristina had the nerve to write a book about such simple alterations. Maybe if you have never sewn and have not a bit of creativity you might like get something out of this book.

I simply adore the chic girls guide! This book is so easy to follow. I already have found clothes that I am going to use the "Kristina magic" on!!! I love having clothes that are original. This book is the key to a wardrobe of clothing that is totally you! Trust me. You want this book ;)

I didn't find it to have anything new that I hadn't see on pinterest, that being said it is nice to have it all together in one volume for times when the internet is not working.
