Great Watch!
I bought this watch after the resin strap on my old Armitron watch broke. I was disappointed to find that armitron doesn't make my old watch anymore, so I had to find a replacement. I did extensive research and finally settled on this watch. I needed a rugged, waterproof, backlit, time-and-date + day of week watch. I also needed a watch with a durable strap, because the resin strap sport watches only last 2 or 3 years, which is how long I had my old one. I love the mid-size design of this watch. It fits well and looks really cool. I bought a used like-new one because it was cheaper and it arrived in perfect condition, just without the instructions or original packaging. It is easy to set, easy to read, and the backlighting is just the right brightness. Setting it accurately is tricky, but I've developed my own system to only be one second off, if that. The band is slightly itchy, but it should break in. Overall, I love my new watch and I'm happy that I found something that can take a beating and still work!

Quality watch at a reasonable price
Velcro-closure on the tough fabric band is comfortable and very secure. This beautiful sports watch allows for 12 or 24-hour timekeeping, and is easy to set. Wearers can program 2 entirety different times using the "Time1" and "Time 2" settings, very useful for travel.

Good Watch; Bad Strap
The watch is like many other I've worn, Timex included, and has all the features I want in a standard watch. I like the colors which are very similar to my last Timex which I've had to abandon due to failure of the wrist band after many years of daily use and the dearth of stores which replace straps. The watch itself is reliable and works well, but I do not like the velcro strap. I have very small wrists and searched a lot before deciding on this watch with an adjustable strap unhindered by the placement of buckle and holes. However, the strap is still too big to fit me well and it is tedious to align both sides of the velcro. Also, the velcro will catch my sleeves or other parts of my clothing every now and then and is avoidable only through meticulous placment of the two sides of velcro. I myself can't replace a strap with a better one because I don't know how, but if you can and have large enough wrists, then this may be the watch for you. If the manufacture or anyone else knows where one can purchase a small wrist band where the sellers will remove the one that I now have with a new, better fitting one, I wish there were a way that you could tell me. I do wish the watch were flatter because my sleeves are hard to move back and forth over it and it's also in the way of typing on my computer as well as tucking sheets in between mattress and headboard. (I can't rate the light because I haven't yet looked for the switch, and its water resistance I can't comment upon because I have not and will not subject the watch to water.)

Almost 2 years of abuse and it's still going strong
When I could no longer see the display on my beloved "Casio Women's LA11WB-1 Daily Alarm Digital Watch", I had to hunt for a replacement with larger numbers. This watch is not nearly as intuitive, comfortable, or small as my previous favorite, but after 23 years of wearing the aforementioned model, you can expect me to be biased. This watch does everything my other watch did except I'm too impatient to figure out how. At least making the display light up is easy by touching the fat button under the time on the face of the watch. After unsuccessfully trying to kill my last Casio watch by showering and washing dishes in it daily, I got used to never taking my watch off. I've been wearing this Timex for two years now while swimming, gardening, showering, doing dishes, and anything else wet and dirty that came up, and it's still in fine form. The only thing that's happened is that the glue that held on the loop that the watchband tucked into finally let go. I got a thick piece of necklace thread from the hobby store and stitched another loop through the material band, which did the trick. It's bigger than my last one, the band is fabric (icky when wet), and the buckle is metal, which scrapes up my laptop if I don't push the watch up my arm. But all in all it's a great watch. If you want a small, slender, functional, utilitarian watch, and still have good eyes and ears, check out the Casio above here on Amazon. My review is still up and it's still under tw*lve bucks last time I looked.Update 10/27/2013: I'm still wearing this Expedition 24/7. When the little loop I sewed onto the band broke, I just went to a local watch store and bought a new and very inexpensive band in a pretty color. It's a common size band, no problem replacing it. They switched it out for me free in 5 minutes.

Conked out in 3 months.
Bought on June 19th and it died on September 28th. It lasted 3 months and 9 days. This watch cannot be stopped when not in use to preserve battery life, and I can't figure out how to remove the back to replace the battery. I bought this same model years ago and it lasted for years! What a disappointment to find such a plunge in quality of a Timex product. Or has it just been sitting in Amazon's warehouse for years with the battery running down? I give it one star because I loved it when it worked.

Good Sport Watch
This is a good sport watch. I wear these to work in all sorts of conditions...and they take a beating. I have to get the unisex watches/bands as I have thick wrists for a woman and women's watchbands generally don't fit me. I can't wear the metal watch bands because when I flex my wrist they break. I can't wear the leather bands because when I sweat the band just deteriorates and falls apart. These woven bands are just perfect. I also like that it is velcro. That way you can adjust it perfectly to your wrist. I have worn these watches for nearly 15 years. It has two time functions - so that you can have regular time and maybe the time in another country. It has a split lap stop watch so that you can time each lap as well as your full run. Time, date, alarm, and hour beep if you so desire. It also has a back light which is really handy to tell time in the dark. Only problem with that is at about the year mark, the battery is so low that the light will come on, but the numbers disappear. But, well, it is what it is.Some reviewers have complained that the band is rather small fitting around the wrist. I am a woman and I bought a womans Timex once. The band was EXTREMELY small and barely fit me at all. It would come off a lot of the time because there was barely any velcro to wrap around. This watch is probably more of a unisex watch. Not a woman's per se, but not a big man's watch either. It is about in the middle. I have a 7.5" wrist and that is about as large of a wrist that this watch will fit. The women's watch that I had previously had would only fit a 7" wrist.

Ready For An Expedition
The product arrived in perfect condition. I have struggled with finding the right watch for me over the passed few years. I have a watch for what seems like every occasion but not a good every day watch. I used to have an old digital watch with an 80's retro vibe which was perfect for me but wasnt very durable and ended up falling apart and reseting the time for time change was a bit of a hassle. I had also tried acouple of the smart watches but i wasnt crazy about them always having to be connected to my phone or needing to download an app in order for it to update. I was looking for a watch that was durable, easy to read and reset, and didnt need to be connected to my phone or require updates. The Timex Expedition was exactly what i was looking for. It tells the time, the date, it has mulitple alarms that can be set, and has a perfectly lit screen when the light button is pushed. If you are someone who wants a watch that can count your steps, tell your heart rate, asnwer texts and calls or can tell you where you are or where you have been, than this is not the watch for you. It is for those that just want a simple watch. Not a tone of bells and whitsles, just simplistic. The only thing that was kind of annoying is that the user manual is online, but i am sure you can print it off and have your own copy. The mailing process was great and the watch is prefect.
