Quality build, works like a champ!
Well let me start off with a humorous note. My wife saw me playing with the probe after I opened it and she thought I was trying to get kinky! I played along and looked at her and said, "Tonight Baby!" and smiled. The look on her face was priceless... Now on a more serious note, this K-Type temperature probe is built very well, has a nice snug connector, and the length is not too bad but a wee bit shorter than I expected but it will do just fine. I tried it out on many of my devices which used a K-Type adapter and each one worked great. I used it on a Fluke289, ExTech EX330, MEL-8704R, ExTech VIR50 and so far it has worked great. I don't anticipate any problems with other devices too. The temperature range is very good from -50 to about 1000 degrees which is fine for most measurements, any higher then it would be advisable to go with non-contact or a much longer specialty probe. My VIR50 can measure to just about 4000 degrees which would be non-contact, and I believe somewhere in the range of 1800 for contact but I don't have a probe that goes that high nor do I have the need to contact measure almost 2000 degrees. The only issue (and this may not really be an issue), is the probe responds to heat quickly which was impressive but takes quite a while to settle back to a room ambient temperature or baseline temperature after removing from the heat source. My guess is the metallic material that the probe is made from is holding the heat longer and dissipating this heat at slower rate that it absorbs it. I have not tried to measure a colder object or environment yet to see if it responds as quickly in that direction. With all that said, this is the best K-Type Temperature Probe that I have owned to date.

Used to calibrate oven. Tested with ice and boiling water and probe was accurate. Exposure to 400F oven browned shield somewhat, but probe worked properly.

Renewal of an old meter!
This new cord actually help me save my meter from being thrown away. The accuracy is pretty stunning according to my pit boss grill!

although a good digital thermometer would likely have the same response time ...
I bought this on a whim to use in conjunction with a Fluke meter for measuring water output temp for various timed flushes on my HX espresso machine, where very fast response times are needed. The thing that sold me initially were the overall price and the fact that it came with the adapter needed to hook up to my meter. The first couple times I used it, the temp crawled upward much slower that I anticipated - think analogue meat thermometer respose. I kept fiddling with it, and eventually got the response I needed, although a good digital thermometer would likely have the same response time (if you don't already own a meter to use this with).

Alternative to field piece
I’ve used these probes as well. They do the job, my digital gauge shows temps in oven cavity, refer, freezer as well,

Nothing fancy but did the job.
Nothing fancy but did the job. Seemed a bit pricey for the quality delivered.
