On the plier ,all you can see and read USA,but it doesn't say "Made in USA",also you can find some patent numbers pending,if you check on the box(if there is),it is either made in China or USA,it also depends if these were mass produce here, or outside the states,I know these were made probably in early 90's or late 2000's and are out of production since, but there are some maybe produce in China,like a cheap version or like a knock-off,or better yet try to make some research on some dealers and distributors,I ordered this once,but instead they sent me the wrong item,so I had to have a refund,and ordered the SOG powerassist instead.

Whats the difference between these and the MP400?

You have one less option of philips and flat screw driver, instead of serrated and straight you get a combination of both and you get some scissors with the mp400

How are the cutters with barb wire? I have the diesel set and the cutters are worn out

I’ve never cut barbed wire but I imagine it must be a rather soft annealed wire. This particular model of Gerber uses hardened steel, maybe even carbon steel, for cutting. The blade has three cutting edges plus the blade is replaceable. My guess is that it should work fine for your application.

Does this come with the sheath? My husband bought this exact tool a few years ago & it came with a sheath as well as every other Gerber we have seen.
