The Nickel Acetate MT-90 sealer by 'Anodizing Dye' is relatively inexpensive, with $15 worth of concentrate making two gallons of sealer. If you've done a good job of prep (degreasing with Simple Green and acetone, etching with a lye (NaOH) bath, desmutting with 10% nitric acid in warm water, and anodizing in 15% sulfuric acid bath held at 70 deg F with an ice bath), the dye should have been readily captured in the open pore structure of the anodized surface layer of the aluminum.
