Clear your schedule for assembly day, but worth it.
Got this because we needed something that would look nice, hold up well, not take up too much space, but still hold a ton of DVDs. Worked out well as we managed to fit our entire collection with about a shelf and a half to spare on the bottom. We will likely be getting a second one for our CDs and video games, just trying to decide if we want another full-height version or the shorter one. It also arrived undamaged, so that's a plus, though there's a number to call for the company to send you any missing or damaged parts.I've put together a decent bit of Ready To Assemble furniture in my day, and I'd say this one can be somewhat challenging. The instructions aren't bad as RTA instruction go (possibly because this guy's made in the USA), but not perfect - there is one bit where you need to turn the unit around that isn't really pointed out. As with all RTA you need to stay heads up and pay attention while assembling, especially to where the finished vs unfinished sides are. The roughest part for me was nailing the back on as it needs to be held a few millimeters off the ground and centered perfectly against the unit while you nail the first few nails in. There are also a few times when I had to use some of the inside shelves to prop up parts of the unit (like when attaching the hinges to the doors and main unit) so that things were flush. Plan on this taking up a good chunk of your day to put together. The overall unit, once assembled seems sturdy. The doors in particular are quite heavy, but the hinges do seem adequate to hold them (be sure to stagger them in different directions as the instructions indicate). Even the "cardboard" back seems thicker than what you see on most RTA furniture. If you follow the shelf spacing instructions for DVDs, you'll fit seven rows with no wasted space.Downsides? The only part of this that seems cheaply made is the mechanism that is supposed to lock the left door in place. It's made of plastic and is basically a peg that you're meant to reach in and manually slide up with the left door closed into a small hole in the top of the cabinet. I found it difficult to get the peg to line up with the hole, and when I began to fill the cabinet, quickly realized that I couldn't fill the top shelf as the mechanism protruded into the space needed by the DVDs and I also needed space to reach my hand back there to engage the lock, so, since I really have to need to lock the cabinet, I took this piece off. The keyed lock on the other side works fine, though the keys are a bit rough to insert, although it may just need broken in a bit. Again, though, we don't keep it locked and haven't had issues with the doors randomly swinging open on their own, so this doesn't really affect me. The only other (very minor) complaint is that, other than the permanent shelves, the adjustable ones are pretty thin. They should be fine for my DVDs but I wouldn't trust them to hold up over time with much more weight, like I wouldn't put books on them or load them down with CDs in those super thin jewel cases.Maybe worth noting, I've seen some reviews not happy that the underside of the top isn't finished and can be seen. This is true and the unit is pretty tall, so the underside is exposed. Honestly, though, I can see the underside from where I'm sitting right now and can't even tell because of the way the shadow falls. So, while I can see that might bother some people, I really don't notice.Anyway, overall, very happy with purchase. Delivery was faster than Amazon predicted, and my DVDs are now happily organized in their new home.Downsides?

Media storage cabinet
Overall the cabinet is of good build quality. I intended to put CD's on the longer shelves since they weigh more, mine is on carpet. They do not provide enough shelves to do this, it's needing two additional. I'm either going to contact and ask for them to send or sell me, or make them my self. The doors are set up storing DVD's. I would recommend some revisions to the instructions as to build your cabinet this way for intended storage, and include enough shelves for the builds.

EXCELLENT Purchase!
My biggest concern was potential damage caused during shipping… (*PSA- Before trashing any of the shipping packaging, inspect every piece for potential damage). Fortunately from inspecting every piece, there was almost no damage at all! With the exception of a few tiny scrapes, the quality of all pieces were at 99%.The instructions were very clear and easy to follow with all parts included.I love this new media cabinet! It stores all the DVDs/Blu-rays/games in a much less exposed & more aesthetically pleasing appearance now. It is quite heavy once fully constructed, so I advise moving it with at least one other person.*Critique for the manufacturers- it would be ideal in the future to include a small amount of padded edge protectors (preferably black), which you could affix on corners/edges of the cabinet, to protect any surfaces that the cabinet doors will bump into when fully opened.

Be prepared...
At the end of the day, the unit looks really nice. And it holds way more physical media then what I was prepared for....However, building this is an absolute pain in the ***. Took me over several hours split between three days. One of the sides now has a crack due to the backboard needing to be nailed in; tack them in at slightly the wrong angle and you're boned. Also one of the screw heads broke off while I was installing the lock... So, yeah.At it's normal price, I couldn't recommend this. But with a sale, some ample free time and general know-how when it comes to assembling furniture? Go for it.

Solid and functional
The directions are harder to follow (parts aren't labeled like A,B,C for example) so you have to follow as best you can and visualize it all. The hardest part was installing the hinges as the doors and the frame are slightly different sizes and I had to hulk it together. I definitely recommend mounting to the wall as well (that hardware is all included) as it's top heavy. One door has a metal key lock and the other door has a plastic slide bolt. We had to drill holes to install those, but was easy and worth it. It even came with a touch up marker. One of the boxes looked very damaged from the outside, but it was well packed and nothing inside was damaged. It comes in 2 boxes, and the bigger box is heavy. Highly recommend and may get a second one.EDIT: I did buy a second one. That one came with 2 right side door fronts. No big deal for us, I just flipped the door upside down on the left side (so it has a hole for the lock on the bottom) but honestly nobody will notice. But every thing else was good and put together same as the first. The slide lock on the second isn't as smooth and you have to fiddle with it to get it to work, seems like the pre-drilled hole in the top piece might be off a bit.
