It will “fit” per say but there is no way to anchor it to the cover. So not advisable.

Is this compatible with the koyuko smart ring binders?

I just tried this out and unfortunately, the plastic covers on the binder are too tall to fit in the notebook compartments here (about 0.8 cm too high)--without the covers the pages and the "binder rings" would fit.  The lihit lab Aquadrops  B5 "smart spiral" notebooks would just about fit.  The Maruman eco spiral B5 notebooks fit too (a little snug, but the fit). I have one of these to accompany the Twin Ring Notebook that came with the cover, so I can have different subjects in different notebooks (you could just about fit three notebooks, but it's a bit tight and works much better/more smoothly with 2.  I really like this notebook cover and have found in very useful.

How well does this fit a large moleskine notebook?

A soft cover large moleskine, like the cahier, etc. should be OK. A5 is actually a bit larger than the "large" moleskine, but I think it will hold a couple quite easily. A5 size soft cover notebooks, like the Hobonichi Cousin Avecs or the Leuchtturm softcovers work GREAT in this cover. I now have two of these and love all the pockets and secure closure, as well as the very reasonable price. I sewed charms on the front to dress it up. The fabric is waterproof and very tough, so while it's not as posh as a leather cover, it's much more resistant to damage and it's also less bulky. If you need a secure, everyday carry cover for your A5, this is great. I haven't tried it with my A5 hardcovers, but they might fit if you don't load the pockets down with too much other stuff.

Would a hobonichi techo cousin a5 planner fit?

Yes, it definitely fits. I have used it like this for multiple months now and it's perfect. There's a little extra room, but it won't move around.
