Wasnโt for my cat, but might be good for yours!
My cat doesnโt like it but it works. Gave one to two of my friends and I think one of their cats likes it. Portable, seemed durable, wasnโt too loud or obnoxious. Just wasnโt for my cat

Enjoyable enough
Kitties enjoy it. They get bored after about 10 minutes, so glad it shyly off automatically. Itโs been on and off multiple times (maybe at least 5 full cycles, my kids turn it on and off when they donโt lose it for days on end)- havenโt had to charge it yet. Itโs a tad big for the kitties (they are now 4 lbs), so they donโt bat it around just follow it and pounce every so often. Made a wack a mole box as another reviewer suggested, and that was a hit this morning. I did end up buying a cheerble off of a kickstarter since Iโd love if this was programmable. They wake us up around 5am most mornings and want to play, so having something go off then in another room will be awesome. In the meantime, I can turn this on and theyโll leave us alone but having to haul out of bed and press this button in another room means Iโm probably not going back to bed anyway. Ours works on carpet with lowish pile just fine. Louder on the wood floors.

Ok toy, just not for my cat
Simba (my cat) wasn't impressed with this toy. Of course when he saw the box he was excited, but when I took the ball out, turned it on (it came charged), and put it on the floor, he got down on his haunches, like in attack mode, but he just watched it move around the floor. Lately he just watches it from afar, not really getting close to it, and never attacking it. It did better on the thin carpet than I expected it to do, because most other reviews said differently. And it does ok on our tile floor with wide grout lines. It handles itself around furniture pretty good. It bumps into things, but is able to move away from them, like a table and chairs. It was able to get out of a corner and from under a wall unit kind of ok (took a couple minutes for that). I initially thought the build quality wasn't good, but it's holding up well. The LED light doesn't really attract Simba and there's a thin rubber O-ring that goes around the diameter of the ball to let it get some traction. Other than that, it's slippery white plastic.

Pleasantly surprised
I was pleasantly surprised with this toy. I wasnโt expecting much. I bought it because my cat often begs me to play with him, he rarely will play on his own. Sometimes my cat is fascinated with it, and sometimes heโs not interested, but even then, he always keeps an eye out. It also seems to encourage him to play with his other toys. Personally, I like the ball for myself! I turn it on, set it loose, and let it roll. I have a very small apartment, and the ball will roll everywhere, and has no trouble moving from hard floor to rug or carpet. It almost never gets stuck, and if it does, it turns off to save power. The ballโs wobbling motion causes it to wander erratically, which is perfect. I find it entertaining to have it rolling around as I go about my day. It reminds me of a hamster running around in a ball. Speaking of power, I like that it uses a USB charger rather than a battery. The ball lasts a long time after a full charge. Itโs never run out of juice. I had hoped to post a video, but none of them really show it off. So the tiny clip Iโve attached will have to do.

Better Than I Expected.
To be clear, I have only had this a little over a week, so a review may be premature, but here's the scoop so far. It seems to be really durable, but you need to unscrew the ball in half for charging and I have real problems with the threading of the two parts. It mostly cross-threads until I get it nearly tight and then pops into place. I have no idea how this will hold up over time. One cat won't stay in the same room with it, the other is fascinated for long periods. It moves fast and in random directions, so it appears to have a mind of its own, and Lily is not happy when it runs toward her. She does not leave though,, but keeps watching it from a safe distance. I am captivated by it, however. It rolls and crashes into whatever obstacle and backs its self out of tight jams. Not always, I find that I have to rescue it from carpets and low edges on furniture and such. It is not strong on pile carpets, but zips right along on tile, wood or low-nap carpets like indoor-outdoor. Battery holds up as advertised, have not timed it, but it goes for longer than Lily is interested. She will warm to it over time and interact more. I leave it on the floor when not turned on so they can examine it and get used to it. Overall, I'm happy.

Works great, but our cat doesn't care
And that's about the sum of it. 5 stars because it isn't fair to penalize the vendor just because our cat is weird. :-) Construction is good, it's easy to use and charge, and it works well, randomly rolling around the room as designed. I'm not at all disappointed in the product in any way, because it does exactly what it says it would. I couldn't begin to tell you why the cat ignores it. She's not at all afraid of it. She's checked it out thoroughly. She just apparently can't be bothered to play with it. We've tried it out with her multiple times and the results are always the same. We'll pass it along to some friends, and let them see if their cats will like it better.

Not worth the money, wait, or disappointment
This ball is made of a very hard plastic, which gives it a very hard shell. The sound of it rolling around on our hard flooring alone has made my cat run and hide and not want to come out for over an hour. It makes a buzzing sound, as it is. The laser light follows along with the direction of the ball. As such, as the ball rolls the laser does not stay pointed at the ground all of the time and is instead pointed wildly toward the ceiling every few seconds. If the top half of the ball remained steady while the bottom half rolled it would solve this issue but , as it stands, the laser is never in one place long enough. There is another type of product I wish I had bought instead that stays stationary and just points the laser around on the floor while flicking a feather. There's also another kind that would have been a better buy that rolls on two wheels and works as I just mentioned. If I get the chance, I'll go back and update this review with links to those products instead. As far as the noise, this product may work okay on carpet, but then there'd still be the buzzing sound and the laser would still be shooting around all over the place. I really wanted to like this product!

Works but not that interesting
Got this toy for my new Scottish Fold kitten and my 2-year-old Manx to see if they would like to chase it around without having to physically play fetch with them. It works decently well, charges up just fine and keeps a charge for at least a couple of hours, since I haven't had to recharge it yet. We live in an apartment that is half carpeted, so its ability to roll around is definitely limited on the plusher carpets. I think if I had a slower moving cat this would be good but my Manx is a bullet train and this just is too slow for her to be more than only mildly interested in for the first minute or so that she sees it tumble around. The kitten likes it but again it doesn't hold her attention that well. She prefers to chase the bigger cat around rather than the toy. So this isn't ideal for my two girls but it might work really well for others! Overall sturdy and appears well-made. No issues to date and I've used it for few weeks. Just a warning, it is a little loud on wood floors especially since the seams are wider between the planks for ours. So I imagine it would be equally as noisy on tile.

Works even on cats that don't like most toys
I gave 3 of these as Christmas presents and all recipients' cats love them! One of them is traditionally very lazy and isn't interested in many toys, but he was fixated on this one for over half an hour, following it around and batting at it. Another cat, who is more anxious in general and often scared of toys, also was very focused on this and it occupied him for at least 15 minutes too -- he didn't seem scared of it yet also didn't play with it much, but then was very energetic after we put it away, so we think it was enriching for him! And lastly, two kittens went nuts for it, jumping all over it and attacking it and it also kept their interest for a long time. It's perfect for when you want to provide stimulation for your cat(s) but don't have the time! It lasts a long time too, several continuous hours at least.

Excellent toy!
My cats love this toy. They follow it around the house, keeping them busy until I turn it off. It doesn't turn off after 15 mins it keeps going until I turn it off and I like this because my cats like to play longer than 15 mins. I start them off with a 15-minute toy and when that runs out, I start up another 15-minute toy and then onto the self-rotating ball. It does what it says, it goes under furniture and turns itself around and pops out again. I put it on charge before I go to bed and it's ready to go again. I use these toys in the morning and again in the night about 1 hour before I go to bed, so they sleep all night and so do Iโworth every cent.

A wonderful guift for my cat
I was a little septic about its efficiency. But now after trying it I can tell you it is an amzing toy for cats. My baby face loves it too much. Especially we have no much time to play with him the much he wish. So yes this is a good alternative I found when you are busy or exhausted after a long day of work. The advise is to keep it as a surprise for the cat. It means let him play with it about 10 minutes then put it off in a save place out of the sight of your cut. This way he will never get bored of it ๐๐ป
