How do you get the chair to tilt backwards? I turned the knob in front both ways and it barely tilts back

The knob in front under chair adjusts the tension of the lean. the lever on the side that adjusts height also allows for tilt if you pull it out to the right. it leans pretty far, but u may have to loosen the knob to get the tension where u need it for easy recline..

Are the armrests able to slide under a 28 inch desk?

Yes it will (barely). I just took a tape measure to my chair and the armrests are 27" from the ground (including wheels) to the tallest part of the armrest. If the desktop is only 1 inch thick, you should be good to go. The only thing I would check is the keyboard tray if your desk has one. My desk is almost 30" from the ground and the keyboard tray is 26" from the ground so I can't push my chair all the way in, only a couple inches. This chair does sit a little higher than my old home office chair and work chair. IMHO, this chair is much nicer and more comfortable than the chair my employer got me from Staples which is closer to $200.

Good Lumbar Support for 5'2" ? How Much Does the Chair Recline? Reviews vary from 20 to 45 degree angles... can anyone confirm?

I'm 6'2" and I love this chair. As for recline angle, I'm not on the chair right now, but I'd say it's well past 20 degrees. I'd say it's between 35-45. I highly recommend this chair, it's been very comfortable for me. The only downside is that there is really no assembly (it's only a downside if you like to put things together) :-)

If deals and looks like leather but after a year or 2 it flakes off. I purchased 4 of these chairs 2 years ago and have to replace all 4 now because the "leather" is flaking off and dropping all over the floor now. If they used real leather it would be the best looking chair ever created. I hate to buy another because I know what will happen in 2 years. Very sad.
