very polished mad max style shooter
Hi, I was very excited for this game. Then no reviews were out and I was a little hesitant. Then I read that Bethesda is in charge of when the reviews for their games come out and it was beyond the developer id's control and preordered it. These mad max style games are my favorite. I read other reviews that said just another apocolyptic shooter and I think there haven't been that many. I will take a sci fi shooter over a military one any day. I feel those are the ones that seem to be out more. Anyway, before I got my copy I read a negative review in joystiq site and another one from a nobody review site. I read some good ones too. Well I have been playing it about 3 nights with 2 hr sessions each night and so far the game is great. The visuals are the best I have seen so far. I read some reviews that said they look good until you get close. Well to me they look good far and close. The combat is frentic and fun. I havent ever played a shooter this fast pased. The enemies are very smart they go for cover, some rush you, they have patterns that zig and zag when they come at you instead of a straight line, they jump. Great enemy ai. I read some reviews that said the enemy ai was not good. I think it's great. Also runs at 60fps with no slow down! And I got to some great bosses too! Also there are different ammo types and you can find recipes to make ammo and things. Also the sound effects are great as well as the music. The guns have a real weight to them. So far these guns are the most fun to shoot of any shooter I have played so far. The cars. I read some complaints about them being hard to control or not handleing well. The cars are great they handle well, can go blazingly fast, you can shoot miniguns, and it is all very arcadey and easy to control and great fun. Think more open world car controls like mercs2 or saints row 2 than borderlands. Vehicles are much better than borderlands. I also read about the graphics being late to load while you are walking. Kind of like all the images are not loaded as fast as you get to them. I haven't seen any of that. I have to tell you I havent seen one bug in the game yet. This is probably the most polished game I have played right up there with red dead redemption. I also read where people complained about the missions being fetch quests. Well the missions are great. In six hrs I have been to many different locations against many different gangs of enemies. I haven't felt like any of the missions were boring or of little importance. Especially compared to borderlands missions. Also the towns and people you meet are great. Best towns and npc's I have seen. Now I have a theory to why some people do not like this game. It is hard. I die and die a lot. To me it is harder than borderlands which was pretty hard. Anyway, maybe some people just don't like the game. Everybody likes different things, but if this looks good to you at least rent it because it is a great game to me and sometimes I feel when a game is getting a lot of exposure I think there are always people putting it down just to be different. Also nothing bad against borderlands I liked that game a lot too. This game is totally different than that game though. This game is more like a military shooter but with a scifi apocolyptic setting. I say that in part due to the ai style being smarter than the ai in borderlands that was relentless but not very hard to shoot at. Kevin update 10/21 I have about 11hrs in now and am at the last town. I still am enjoying the game. I read where the game kind of losses steam towards the end. So far this is not true. The last few missions I had were very exciting. Also each one took me about 2 hrs to get through. I know this may vary, but I do not save on my own unless I keep getting killed at a certain spot. To clarify the save system. The game autosaves after each mission, but during the mission it will not. But, you can manually save anytime. I read complaints about this. I like it because if you want to be hardcore and try to get through the mission without getting killed you can. If you want to save every step you can and anywhere in between. Also read where you keep going back to old areas. I haven't done any side missions so maybe those ones do, but so far in the story missions I have just visited one area 2x and it had different enemies and I think it looked a little different, if not it was so long since I first visited it did not seem that familiar. I still hold that the shooter aspects are very solid and the npc's you encounter are so cool, and the graphics are the best. Also I can't believe 1 star reviews here. Maybe you cant accept my 5 star review, thats cool it's my opinion. But a 1 star review would be for a broken game. This game has had zero bugs so far and is very polished and solid. Kevin

Well Polished, Highly Detailed, Addictive RAGE.
*** No Spoilers, just game info. PRO's + Highly detailed, grungy, post-apocalyptic world. My favorite! Fast loading, very smooth running, well polished game. The sky is breathtaking! + Control and motion come very natural and easy. Menu's and the option to "defib" yourself back into the game are wonderful. + Characters are friendly & inviting; their mission requests are not tedious like other games. I enjoy finding a new location, with a new group of people to talk with, and a new set of missions to accomplish. Voice acting is wonderful. Might recognize a few actors. + The Enemy AI is very nice. Enemies will hold a wound after being hit or shot, fall down and shoot back, and make inappropriate comments with others about planning your demise. + Open world style, great vehicle choice and driving control, Story and over-all style of the game have a lot of thought put into each detail and aspect of the visual game and game play itself. + Multiplayer buggy racing is a lot of fun. I could spend hours just on that. Co-op multiplayer missions are fun to complete, if you can find someone to stay with you the entire level. + Game Trophies are not annoying or wearisome; they are fun and will most likely be achieved through regular play through of the game. Keep an eye out for the Playing Cards and recipes though. + Wonderful music. Perfect for such an atmospheric game. Mesh very well together. CON's - You need to remember to save. There are no auto-save or checkpoints throughout the level or area you are in. Can get very frustrating when you are really getting into the game and playing for hours, then die and have to play it all over again. Stopping game play to save takes you out of the gaming experience. - There is no split-screen for the full game campaign. There are side story split-screen missions that you can play with a friend or online co-op. I play a lot of games, and I must say that this is one of the rare times where I got hooked almost immediately. I did not want to stop, so I didn't. I was amazed by the high detail level, yet the incredibly smooth control and game play. Usually games with such high detail are sluggish and lethargic (like Dead Island). Rage is one of the clearest, most detailed, and smoothest running games I have ever played. Visually you can see for quite a vast distance full of clarity and high depth. Yes, there is some texture popping from time to time, however this is not distracting from the game play and I rather have some texture loading than sluggish game play. People can compare Rage to many other games, however it reminds me most of Borderlands with a touch of Fallout and a pinch of Mad Max. However Rage has something new to offer. Yes, it is similar to other games, however what game is not? "O, he is holding a rifle, so this game reminds me of Modern Warfare 2". Rage has a style all its own and really pulls off what they were going for. This is a very grungy game, yet it has times of bright sunny skies and colorful scenes. There are fun, albeit frustrating, little mini games throughout the world that you can play to earn cash so you can buy things in one of the shops around the towns. Sort of reminds me of the little mini games in Red Dead Redemption. Each game is a trophy if you beat the last level of that mini game challenge. At the shops you can buy quite a plethora of items. Ammunition for your weapons and vehicle weapons, recipes for building weapons or devices, and a lot more can all be purchased from a shop. You earn money by completing mission, racing, or selling the items you find in your journeys. The Multiplayer is a lot of fun as well. Playing co-op missions have their pros and cons. It is fun to play with another so you can back each other up and revive if necessary. However I have had many times where the other player dropped out or left in the middle of playing which can get very annoying if you are trying to get the multiplayer trophies. It is a shooter game, not a role-playing game. But it has more to offer than just random mind numbing killing like many FPS. It does have a story with missions and characters, a spacious area and cool locations, and solid game play any fan of FPS or RPG should be happy. It is not an adventure game as much as just a shooter. A lot depends on the way you play it. I have spend hours and hours just walking around looking for stuff. But you can also just go to your destination and shoot anything that moves. Rage is a beautiful game graphically. I often find myself walking along and I stop just to look around at the breathtaking sky and the powerful detail in each and every little thing. I still cannot get over how smooth the game runs for how detailed it is. This new id Tech 5 Engine will blow any predeceasing game out of the water and I cannot wait to see what gaming future holds for this powerful engine. Rage has entered in game of the year territory and they have already announced a sequel, maybe a prequel. Any gamer teetering whether to get this or not should not hesitate. It has enough of a variety of game play to please any gamer.

El juego no funciona ya que al instalarlo en la consola para poder jugar, este se congela en 29% y no avanza la instalación, por lo que no es posible usarlo.

This game has a great mix of weapon building, fighting, racing and the list goes on. I loved playing this, especially the AI is so well done. Not your predictable battles that often happen in similar games like this.

I was hoping for an id shooter with a Bethesda story line but RAGE is the opposite. The main story is uninteresting, the side quests are shallow and the enemies are samey bullet-sponges. Think of this game as a sort of "Fallout Lite" and you might not be disappointed.
