TRK120 Automotive GPS Tracking Device

Tracking unit Keeps shutting off randomly during the dayThis was a recommendation from a friend. I'm testing this unit because I have a fleet of 12 vans that I need to install this on. I have a second one coming but will probably return both and find another solution if the second unit operates like this. I'm very busy and annoyed that I have to go though the return process. I was looking for a quick easy install/maintenance solution to track my fleet so far this isn't it

I started with one "fleet" version (the one with expanded 3month battery capacity), but switched to the TRK120 Automotive version, and now I have seven, and will get three more... It turns out that this automotive version has a good package of options for connecting these units to your car electrical system so you never have to worry about the unit's battery going out of charge. Specifically, they give you wiring for direct connect to your battery terminals but more usefully, they give you an "add-a-fuse" kit so that you can do the job yourself in 10 minutes via your vehicle's fusebox. Just google add-a-fuse and you'll see plenty of videos on how to do this - DIY video is plentiful as this is how people power their custom electric add-ons like car lights, sound systems, radar detectors, dashcams, etc. The 3-mo battery version turned out not to work for us - I think it's more for assets that don't have batteries, like semi-trailers, because the ease of connecting this unit to a vehicle battery so totally outweighs the hassle of periodically charging the unit that I don't see why anyone would get the 3-mo battery product if they have a battery in the vehicle already.The application behind the service works well when viewed from a PC, less so from your phone where there seems to be a lag in position updates. How do I use trackimo? We're a "local food movement" farm with delivery routes and expensive equipment scattered all over. Now when customers call for an ETA on a delivery I can tell them with accuracy how far the truck is away without trying to track down the driver, and I can sleep better at night, knowing that if a tractor is being stolen from a field, I'll get an alert that it is leaving its geofence area and I'll have a chance of recovering it. Nice solution package!

Great tracker. Wish the battery life was better. App works great and the price can't be beat.

Paid for expedited shipping in order to get this in time for a vacation trip and was unable to get battery to charge. Can't tell if the problem is the battery or the device itself. Have wasted two hours now trying to get this resolved without success. Checked mfg. site for potential solutions and found none. Filled out a support ticket but at his point it seems extremely unlikely that it will be resolved in time to be of any use on this trip.Update: Returned defective unit and ordered a replacement and the second item has worked fine. Ordered this with the intent of connecting to the wiring of the car but thus far have found that the battery alone will power the unit for several days in this partucilar install, so have just been periodically recharging and that has worked fine. The setup was simple and when activated, it generally provides excellent location resolution.

love this little unit .originally I bought it for my drone.but when i did not fly the drone,I started to play with it.put it in my back pack.I even put it on my work truck because my truck gets used 24/7 different shifts and when i was off i screwed around and went to were it said my truck was and low and behold it was there.and when i was to go to work i was able to see if the driver using my truck was at the yard i could know yes he was back in time or no he was still out.then i called the office and asked and they told me ya its here or no he is still out but should be back in soon.but i already knew that because of this little unit...you can even install it hard wire to your car battery with the car kit option.track your girlfriend,boyfriend,wife,husband,kids car.or your Enemy I thought of making a fake package and leave it on my porch and see some one steal it then track them to there home and call the cops.yea!or put it on a bird see where it goes might not get it back but now im just dreaming.but no great little unit..it is a little off when tracking might show 1/2 block off but you just drive around the area you will find it.it will be there.sometime right on...

I bought this hoping to track a teenager's whereabouts. I have been extremely disappointed. I wanted to know the exact path the car was traveling and exactly where the car stopped for any length of time. The map tracking with this will often make a diagonal line across an area which prevents knowing the exact path the car went. Also, you can set it up to notify you when the car starts moving after being stopped and it did not always report the exact location. As far as my home, it would often register an address 1/2 mile away. It also cost me $60 to have a professional installer put it in, but we had to take it out because it wasn't charging. I then had to regularly charge it in the house and sneak it back out to the car when I could. Overall, I regret buying this. I wish I could get my money back. If I were you, I would find something better.

it is very difficult to view the the history. I cann"t get a steady view, it keeps moving every time I create a trayectory.Also many times the location on my phone is different than the one on the computer and it takes some time tosynchronize.

This is such a great tracker that if you numb the vehicle it sends a message and alerts you to checkThe location accuracy it great unless you hide under heavy metal but in the open even if the phone signal is weakThis Trackimo gets through in the hill of MissouriI like so much I bought a second one and yes in a year I'll gladly pay the $5 per month to know my vehicles can be founded and know when they are being started or numbedThanks TrankimoThe service is very fast even on the weekends
