Fox 40 Sonik Blast whistle (orange black)

Good safety whistle to keep in a backpack or when boating/kayaking. Bright colored & it doesn’t take much wind to make it sing. Very functional tool to have in the pack. Solid construction & good value for the money.

It's a whistle. It blows.

I recently started working as a soccer referee. After my mentor watched one of my games, he pointed out that my whistle was too quiet. That night, I ordered a Fox 40, and it arrived very quickly. I like the orange color because it’s easy to see. The sound—oh my gosh—I almost deafened myself on the first try. It’s much louder than I expected. I’ve been using it in my games since then, and officiating has become much easier with the proper tool.

Excellent whistle. I like the orange color, size, and it's extremely loud and high pitched. This is weird to say but everybody should have a really good whistle, especially the ball-less ones so they can be used in any condition. I have given a few to different female friends of mine for their personal safety when walking alone or at night. I would also recommend this for any outdoorsy/adventurous/boating people since once you take out any technology in a survival or rescue situation you are left with very primitive options and this one for the price and size is well worth tossing in your bag, pocket, or around your neck. If you're lost in the middle of the woods, I can guarantee this whistle will be heard for a couple miles, especially if it can echo within hills or mountains. If you're on a boat and can see a shore line but your engine wont start and have no other options to signal someone on shore or another boater that you need help this will also for sure get their attention. Then for a safety stand point if you're in any urban setting and blow this hard it will grab everybody's attention and if it was a potential attacker they'd maybe even just turn and run the other way just because of how loud this whistle really is. In general unless you're going to give this to a child and regret your life until they eventually lose it, everybody should have something like this for a variety of purposes that hopefully you'll never need to use it for but for the price and quality this is a must buy.
