55 liter semi-round step can recycler

We've been using this Simplehuman 45L rectangular step can for a while now, and it's easily one of the best kitchen upgrades we've made. The brushed stainless steel looks modern and fingerprints wipe off easily, so it always looks clean. The step pedal feels sturdy and opens smoothly every time, and the soft-close lid is so much quieter than our old trash can. It also does a great job keeping odors contained. The 45L size is perfect for our busy family without taking up too much floor space. The custom liners fit perfectly, but regular 13-gallon bags work well too. Overall, it's well-made, durable, and looks great in the kitchen. It's definitely more expensive than a basic trash can, but the quality makes it worth the investment. Highly recommended!

This is easily the nicest kitchen trash can I’ve ever owned. The brushed stainless steel looks great, the lid closes quietly every time, and the foot pedal feels incredibly solid and well built. It definitely has a premium feel. One thing I really appreciate is that you don’t have to use the proprietary bags. While the simplehuman liners fit perfectly, I’ve been using regular kitchen trash bags without any issues. The liner rim keeps everything tucked neatly out of sight, so you’re not locked into buying one specific brand. It’s sturdy, easy to clean, holds odors well, and looks fantastic in the kitchen. Sometimes it’s the little everyday items that make a surprising difference, and this is one of them. Five stars. Great design, excellent quality, and the flexibility to use standard trash bags makes it an even better value.

I bought this trash can six and a half years ago after being sick of smelly trash cans that quit working after a couple months. It was a huge splurge at the time, but it has been worth it 100 times over. I have moved with this trash can probably 10 times. It has been used and abused. If you ask me what my favorite purchase I have ever made, it is this trash can. The step still feels super solid and works perfectly. The size is perfect. I love that the lip covers the liner. It is easy to clean. I don’t use their trash bags bc I am cheap, but that is a nice feature for those who choose to use it. Whenever the topic of trash cans come up, I am taking the opportunity to hype this trash can. It’s deserved.

First let me say I still can't believe I paid this much for something to throw trash in! But our kitchen is set up so there's no place to "hide" a trashcan. It has to sit out for the world to see which necessitates having something nice with a closed lid. I love the large step bar (no hunting for a small or hidden step when your hands are full or you're in a hurry. When the lid is closed there are no odors no matter how smelly it is inside. The bags come out easy and so far, no problems with snags or tears as some have mentioned due to the bag dispenser. It does not sit flush against the wall but that is not because of the dispenser. The lid assembly is wider than the can as you can clearly see from the picture. The bag dispenser is not wider than the lid. However, you can push it as far back against the wall as it will go without interfering with the lid operation. That was a problem with a previous SimpleHuman trashcan we had - it had to sit about 5-6 inches away from the wall in order for the lid to operate properly. This one does not require the extra space. Also, the lid opens and closes almost without a sound. I have noticed a bit of a bang if you do not depress the bar fully to open the lid. The way this is designed, you cannot open the lid without stepping on the bar unless you want to open the entire top assembly such as when changing the trash bag. There are two young children in the house and I have not had a problem with fingerprints or smudges on the unit. It wipes off easily if there any spills. I am currently using the SimpleHuman bags it came with but will switch "regular" bags when those run out. I already paid a fortune for the trashcan, I'm not paying extra for the bags too! All in all, it looks great and works great too. I would recommend this product to a friend and despite the price, I would buy it again.

This garbage can is beautiful. It’s unbelievable that a garbage can be this nice to get someone so psyched about a garbage can like what. It’s very durable, perfect size, amazing quality, very sturdy. Way too expensive but it was a gift for my husband for finishing up fellowship. We had been using a plastic garbage can that was an eyesore. This completely elevates our kitchen.

This arrived better than expected. It’s the nicest standalone waste bin that I’ve ever used. The bags fit well and are easy to put in. The full bags come out easily. The foot pedal works nicely and the lid is very quiet and effective. It’s attractive as a steel can goes. It has a compartment to hold more bags but after we used the ones that came with it, we just use the standard kitchen size bags from the store. After moving from a home with a hidden can in the cabinet, hubby wasn’t too thrilled that we were going back to a stand-a-lone trash can again. It seems you never have room for them and it’s never in a convenient place when you find room. And they are usually pretty ugly. But we both really like this one.

I never thought that people would bother to notice a trash can, but I've been pleasantly surprised to find that guests regularly go out of their way to compliment me on my beautiful trash can! Everything about the design is smooth and streamlined. The bags slide so easily into the liner pocket, and they smartly fold the first bag in each pack so that it can pull through easily. The stainless steel truly is fingerprint proof, and though the inside is plastic, it's a very solid, heavy duty plastic. Someone else commented that the lid takes forever to close. I didn't find this to be the case at all. It swings down fairly quickly, and then the damper stops it just before it closes making it perfectly silent. In fact, when I first got it, I found myself looking back to see if it actually closed, it was so quiet. Another comment claimed that the step pedal was also made of plastic, which isn't true. The top is made of the same stainless steel as the rest of the can, while only the bottom of the pedal is made of the same heavy duty plastic. The capacity is my favorite part of this can. Before, my husband and I would constantly overfill our old can, pushing the garbage down, determined to find the space for just one more piece of trash until one of us broke, and finally changed the bag. Then, when one of us finally did, getting the ill fitting bag out was impossible to do without shaking it, spilling trash out on to the floor. That NEVER HAPPENS with this can!! We can go up to around 4 or 5 days without having to change the bag, and when the time comes, the bag comes out so effortlessly. Plus, having the liners right there inside the can means we're no longer arguing about who has to change out the bag! I know the matching liners are more expensive, but when you only have to change them out 2 or 3 times a week, a pack of 60 can last you 3-4 months! I was delighted to find out that they carry the bags at my local bed, bath & beyond, so I can always save by using one of the many 20% off coupons I receive in the mail. I should also mention that I was tempted to purchase one of the simplehuman odor filters, but I thought it would be an awkward fit on a lid that so frequently goes up and down. I find that a filter is totally unnecessary as the lid fits so seamlessly, it truly does keep out all of the odors. It is quite an investment, but if you deal with trash issues like a consistently overfull can, or a husband that hates changing out the liners, this trash can will truly change your life!

Owned and used daily in our kitchen for nearly 5 months. (The 45 liter brushed stainless steel step can, soft close lid with brushed finish) As these crappy photos with terrible lighting show, there are multiple scratch marks and several dents on the lid. Two of the smaller scratches arrived on the brand new can, but most are from dog toys being bounced onto it. Much of the scratches and dents are visible only from a certain angle. I would not describe them as glaringly obvious marks, but I do notice them. The soft close lid is practically soundless. It is NOT NECESSARY to buy the special, expensive simplehuman liners! We have been using Glad 13 gallon tall Force Flex bags, which easily fit the can, without any sort of stretching or pulling. The deep lip of the can completely covers the trash bags. We received a sample size pack of the exclusive simplehuman brand liners. They are certainly made with thicker plastic and I found that they can withstand more trash being crammed and jammed into the bin with less chance of tearing when yanking out a full bag. The simplehuman liners cost about 35 cents each, compared to Glad bags at about 11 or 12 cents each. (I prefer the less expensive option, personally. Much easier to toss out stinky stuff in a less-than-full bag that costs a whole lot less!) CLEANING - I’ve sprayed the inside several times with some Clorox bleach spray, after emptying particularly stinky trash. This has left some pretty icky looking rusted marks. On the exterior and lid, I ONLY use a soft cloth with a squirt of stainless steel cleaning spray, and don’t rub. Haven’t had any issues. Smudges wipe off easily. Some reviewers complained about the built in storage for the bags. You can fold the cheaper bags and stuff a bunch to fit inside. As for those who complained about their trash bags snagging on that little storage compartment, if it bothers you, the easy fix is to tape a piece of cardboard over it and move on with your life without complaint. The storage feature is not too impressive. All in all, this trash can does exactly what it’s supposed to do and looks so much nicer than any of the plastic ones we’ve had over the years. Even with scratches and dents, it’s much nicer looking than you expect a trash can to be. Not inexpensive, but there’s a 10 year warranty. Definitely recommend!

Super poubelle. Certes un peu chère mais jusqu’à présent j’achetais des poubelles en plastique de marque connue qui cassait au bout de quelque mois et dont la mise en place et le retrait des sacs n’étaient pas pratique et qui coûtaient pas loin de 50 euros! Donc plutôt que de racheter encore une de celles ci, j’ai préféré «investir » dans une poubelle solide et très pratique que je vais garder, je pense quelques années. J’ai acheté les sacs de la même marque; on peut tasser les déchets dans la poubelle sans avoir des difficultés à sortir le sac par la suite. Je suis ravie de mon achat!!

Comme toute chose, si l'on souhaite acquérir quelque chose d'esthétique, durable, facile à utiliser, il faut mettre le prix... Cette poubelle est certes chère mais contrairement à d'autres elle répond aux précédents critères. Il s'agit d'une acquisition pour de très nombreuses années et non du jetable en plastique (pensons à notre planète). Les sacs de la marque, eux aussi plus chers que dans le commerce, s'adaptent parfaitement et sont effectivement d'une grande solidité. En plusieurs mois d'utilisation, je n'ai eu aucune fuite liquide dans le fond de ma poubelle ni de sac qui se déchire quand on les retire, ce qui est fort appréciable. Pourtant, je la charge au maximum. Je vous conseille de les acheter en grande quantité afin de bénéficier d'un prix plus attractif à l'unité (sur Amazon ou sur le site du constructeur). La conception en inox permet un nettoyage facile, attention toutefois à ne pas utiliser le grattoir de votre éponge afin de ne pas la railler. Avec cette poubelle, vous n'aurez plus de honte à la laisser apparente. Aucune odeur à déplorer (sauf quand on l'ouvre évidemment). Le petit plus est l'emplacement pour ranger vos sacs. Pour résumé, il s'agit d'un achat que je ne regrette vraiment pas et que je conseille sans hésitation.
