Nice little files. They work well. I'm happy with them.

I love these! Deal of the century, even if they wear out (which mine haven't, even after a couple of months of using them dry and generally beating them up). The range of grits is perfect, the size is great (just a little bigger than the multi-pack sets with different-shaped files), and I use the flat file the most. I use them for cleaning up vitreous enamel and firescale on copper, as well as smoothing the edges of copper vessels, and the size is perfect for both small and larger tasks. I'm going to buy another set(s) as a backup!

I needed to file a rough edge on a glass measuring cup and needed these files to do the job.

These worked much better than anticipated. Great value for the price.

I have used these to sharpen an axe and a machete. It will take a little getting used to, but I like the gradations of grit for the purpose.

The most coarse file of the six has clearly been coated with its diamond abrasive unevenly and displays a ridge along the long edge. This means it will not cut properly across a flat surface unless the file itself is placed against a grinder and the raised edge eliminated. This characteristic improves as one progresses toward the finest grit file, which appears suitable. This set is inexpensive enough that the price of even one fine grit file of high quality might cost the same, so if you mainly want a fine grit file like I did, it isn’t necessarily a waste of money. That said, the quality of the set as a whole is compromised and I would not take pride in it if I were the manufacturer. Do such things as pride in workmanship matter any more? Frankly, my expectations weren’t that high anyway. I just needed a decent fine cut file and hoped some of the others would be of some use.

These files give a good range of grit sizes. The cutting on sizes 40 and 80 is a little uneven and both tend to leave a few deep gouges rather than smoothly taking off material. (That isn’t unusual. The same thing happens with grinding wheels.) The other sizes are more even. Diamond files are the fastest way to finish shaping hardened steel knife blades in a controlled incremental manner, without risking edge damage from a ‘slip’ of a power tool. They are not for the actual sharpening process. For that one needs to use a finer natural stone to polish away the last file marks. I don’t necessarily use any lube on these but water is an option that does help smooth the process. Except for the finer sizes they are probably too aggressive for shaping copper and other soft metals; steel files are the traditional tool for that.

it was brilliant in a small tight space they are just the right size and being impregnated with diamonds bits it worked well i am very happy with this product will be using it for many years

Like most of the SE files, I don't consider them top of the line, but they definitely work and serve their purpose for me. Haven't had an issue with them dulling yet from the diamonds falling off, but time will tell. First set of SE diamond files I almost sent back as initial impressions were not so good with the coating not covering as much of the file as I would have liked, but they have proven useful over time. I don't do a lot of metal work with them, so not sure the performance if frequently used on harder material but when I have used them on metals, it has been fine.

These diamond grit files are ideal for sharpening small tools. Side cutting pliers for example. They are small enough to get into small gaps. I use them on small workshop and garden tools. Ace!

Really pleased with these files. Great for use during my modelling projects. Use them all the time on different materials.
