This movie is hot. If you like Ashton Kutcher you will see him in a hot new way. It's pretty good if that's the kind of thing you are looking for.

Easy to download and great movie

when i was an undergrad in college (1970-73) i took a freshman "creative writing" class to pad out my 1st year credits requirement so as to prepare elsewhere for my major's 2nd year curriculum (latin: in 2nd year we're going to read horace!)--the creative writing class required us to write short stories (at least one), get them xeroxed (it was the dawn of the 70's), and distribute copies to our classmates for discussion--i was stumped because i really didn't have any stories i thought worth telling...--and then my classmates began sharing, and there were a couple of them who shared stories i found so static and low ebb and dull that i was stumped again...until we workshopped them and the authors explained that low ebb, dullness, slack, no action, repetitiveness, depression, futility, pointlessness, inertness was the point: their stories were about an experience of life as it really is--just the sort of thing 18-19-year-olds know all about and are ready wearily to share with the world...and i thought "i can do that!"--pitter-pat...i leave it to readers of this review to read other reviews for more details about this sadsack bomb of a "romantic comedy"--for my part, given the time i'm writing this, i'm guessing that this is the kind of thing AI will be coming up with: "start with alfie and american gigolo (lostness, futility and cynicism, but keep it simple); make backgrounds and interiors cool expensive fantasy LA, now get some actors who need work: beautiful people worn down by lostness, futility and cynicism"--but it turns out humans came up with this stinker all on their owna special note about the huge swaths of softcore porn the humans put in this movie: softcore porn is an invite, a tease, a more's-coming...but if you just keep repeating the tease it's actually diminishing returns

A lot of people give Ashton Kutcher crap. I got to give it up. I think the man can act. People talk about how this movie is shallow and full of sex scenes. That's silly - a movie about drugs without drugs? Or what about a movie about sports without sports? Ridiculous. The movie is deep and takes shots at the shallow and superficial life. You are not supposed to get off or be aroused by the sex scenes and shallowness. You are supposed to be annoyed and see the shortcomings. Basically, this is the American version of the movie "Priceless." "Priceless" is a good movie, but in some ways it legitimizes the player life style. Priceless makes it appear as if high priced sex-for-money is okay given socioeconomics. However, Spread doesn't do so. Furthermore, Spread shows how in the end, people can actually lose with the player life style. Does anyone seem happy at the conclusion of this movie? Do any of the characters feel as if they have accomplished their life goals? That's why this movie is good. It shows how life can wasted by pursuing superficial values and means. I like the characters. I like the script, and I like the acting. A movie is a movie. At the end, people are left to debate the entertainment value as well as the moral/life lesson one. After watching this movie, I believe the entertainment value is as good as could be given the subject matter. However, the life lesson value is excellent. If you are looking to watch a movie and become a slightly better person after viewing, give Spread a shot.

i have watched the movie and read some of the other reviews but we forget that these people really exist. in some point in our lives we have come across freeloaders like this. we can only hope that life bites them in the A$$ like it did in this movie. if you take away any type of lesson from this movie you will be better off. most men behave badly because most women are looking for bad boys. all girls are taught that boys treat them badly because they are afraid to let them know that they like them and boys learn from each other because that guy is a douchbag and gets all the hot girls. take a moment and learn something if you don't life him it's because you dated him and if you feel bad for her it's because at some point you have lived that live. learn what not to do and what not to allow if he is an A$$ you can't change him so move on all in all it should be a how not to movie in think both parties did a great job and this is a must see if you are in a bad relationship

Did not enjoy the plot. Movie just felt a bit predatory and creepy.

There is no real plot except that a guy who is a male Sugar Baby is forced to mature after dealing with life lessons learned in his 'relationships'. Kutcher is a natural actor but the characterization is thin and he appears to be more ready for roles of a more mature nature, appearing a bit overgrown for the part. There is strong acting in it throughout but not much better than a soapy tv drama can make use of. It looks good as a film with good clothes and nice houses, a lot of attractive people and it's a well made piece of work but it definitely falls short of being anything really engaging beyond a fantastical view of a highly attractive player becoming a man after he experiences the true love from a real woman. it sounds very much like a juvenile romance novel concept with a big budget and a lot of borderline NC 17 sexual content. Heche is a great actor but the chemistry is not real between Kutcher and her, nor are there characters developed well enough to really to get past the extreme charisma from either one on their one.Worth watching, funny in moments, interesting to talk about if you're a fan of any of these actors and there are a lot of nice moments. It might be better than you thought or a lot worse, depending on your expectations but it's not much more than a junkie sexploitation movie. For what it is, it's actually quite good.
