Wonderful haircut for my pal!
I have a cocker spaniel. Finally bought this gem and paid more yes....and beyond happy. My $50 pair I bought finally quit working and never was happy with them. A hair cut for my dog went from 1 1/2 hours or I'll finish it tomorrow to 35 mins! I just got done and yes only used once. I was only on 1st speed. Never even went to the 2nd speed. It did not get hot like other reviews might say, maybe towards the end a little warm but nothing that hurt him or me. Its a motor. It'll get a little warm. Nice long cord and the #10 worked great as I just shave him down. I don't do the cocker cut as I can't brush 20 times a day to get tangles out plus he gets hot with long hair.I admit I usually do two haircuts then back to the groomer for a real deal so yes I'm saving money in the long run. I'm no groomer but this was the best time he and I had as it wasn't loud running and truly like a hot knife through butter. Reminder only used once just a few mins ago and be back to get him next month sometime but these are built well. I only put a 4 star on weight. Its 2 pounds give or take and ounce but to me it's fine and I knew I had a genuine good product. Do yourself and your pup a favor and spend the extra money, clean the tool, and grease when needed.

Perfect for curly haircuts!
I have a cocker spaniel/poodle mix who is over 16 years old. The groomer will no longer take him because of his age so I ordered these clippers after reading reviews. I had some less expensive ones years ago and they wouldn't cut his curly hair. They pulled and he would have none of it. These clippers are amazing! So easy to cut his hair - not terribly loud either. They didn't get as hot as I expected so we were able to do most of it in one sitting. As you can see, we didn't finish as he was ready for a break but it did a great job. I am by no means a professional and I hope to get better but as long as he is cooler, I am good with it. These clippers are well worth the investment. I have spent 50 bucks every 5 or 6 weeks to get him groomed. After a few cuts at home, we will have made our money back.

The absolute worst customer service
I am basing my review on customer service. I have purchase multiple clippers in the past. They have always been satisfactory.I run an animal welfare surgical facility and we have to keep clippers on hand at all times as they are in constant use. I purchased a new clipper in September and received them on September 11th. They were purchased as a back up clipper as we had just opened our last one. Today is November 8th, they were opened today for the first time. Out of the box they did not work. It clearly states on their paperwork NOT to call the store they were purchased at...to call them directly. I did as they asked. When I reached their customer service rep "Jenny", she was more concerned with schooling me on the proper use of clippers. I had already explained that we are well versed in clipper use. I have 36 years experience alone! Then she condescendingly asked if we were maintaining the clippers properly with the oil that was provided. Again, I repeated that we just opened them today and they did not work out of the box. She then said we should have used them the day they were received and to check my warranty. Once again, I told her they were not needed when they were received. They were ordered as back up. She then told me to send them in at our expense and they would "look at them". I asked for her name....rather then answer me, she asked for both my first and last name and tried to hang up. When I interrupted her, she unwillingly provided her first name and refused to provide her last name. I asked to speak with her supervisor. she put me on a long hold only to come back to say her supervisor was too busy to speak to me. A company is only as good as it's representatives. This was a horrible experience!!! Never again Andis. $160.00 for a new pair of clippers that you berate the customer for when approached, expect them to pay more so you can"look at them", and you treat a long time client with untenable disrespect.

Reliable, well made clipper. Recommended by my pet groomer.
This is a review of the Andis UltraEdge AGC Super 2-Speed Detachable Blade Clipper, Professional Animal Grooming. We take our Standard Poodle to a groomer. It costs us $85 each time. So for the price, that makes this clipper cost 1.5 times the price of a groomer cut. So once I learn a bit more and start cutting my poodle myself, I'll be saving tons of money. I asked my groomer what clippers they prefer to use in her shop and she said Andis. That's why I bought this clipper. However, I actually returned this particular clipper and bought another from another listing on Amazon because for about the same price it included 2 additional blades and a metal comb. So the 95th Anniversary clipper deal was a better value than this one. But the clipper is the same in either case and it is a good one. Corded is the way to go... much less expensive than the rechargeable models and you don't have to worry about not being able to finish the cut due to a dead battery. So far I use the clipper to extend the amount of time between groomer clippings. I'm basically using it to keep her feet and belly clipped in between professional groomings. This has allowed me to go to the groomer every 10 weeks rather than every 6 weeks. As my skills improve I hope to be able to clip my poodle entirely myself and look forward to not having to spend so much money on taking my dog to the groomer.
