Its the best.
We had one of these clippers years ago when we bred dogs. Now that we only have a couple of pet dogs in our care we didn't want to spend the money to buy a clipper of professional quality. We bought the next model down in quality thinking it would do for just the two we now have. I was wrong. The lesser model did not hold up and made the job so much harder and slower. This model is just so much more capable and powerful. I put it to work right away because the cheaper one was out of commission. The job went so quick and easy. I love the two speeds and the extra power and durability of this clipper. The last time we owned this model it lasted for ten years or more through hundreds of dogs. I doubt I will ever need to buy another one. Pay the bucks; you'll be glad you did.

These seemed the most liked and used according to the reviews
Just received them, today. These seemed the most liked and used according to the reviews, so I gave them a try. I also purchased the blue comb guards for those times when I actually have the patience to do a shape and trim, so together, the cost was roughly $165.Having never cut our cocker spaniel's hair (always used a groomer @ $55 each time), finally decided to just buy a very good pair of clippers to do it myself and save some money. So, after 4 months with no grooming, her hair had gotten thick, long, shaggy, and matted. I wasn't in the mood to try a shaping or trim, so I decided to just give her a nice close summer cut. The number 10 blade that came with it was perfect.Taking my time and being very careful, since I was a newbie, and then going over her a second time, I finished in about 1 hour (I stopped every 15 minutes for about 3 minutes each, to let the motor take a break). The blade went through her coat nicely. Some areas were a bit choppy after the first pass, but the second pass cleared most of it up. She never showed any signs of discomfort while I was cutting, so the blades couldn't have gotten hot enough for her to be bothered, and I was able to hold the blade to my fingers without much discomfort either. The body of the clippers never got hot at all, and was comfortable to handle. After 3 or 4 cuts, these will have easily paid for themselves. Happy with the first experience, but will definitely follow up should anything change in the future.

The absolute worst customer service
I am basing my review on customer service. I have purchase multiple clippers in the past. They have always been satisfactory.I run an animal welfare surgical facility and we have to keep clippers on hand at all times as they are in constant use. I purchased a new clipper in September and received them on September 11th. They were purchased as a back up clipper as we had just opened our last one. Today is November 8th, they were opened today for the first time. Out of the box they did not work. It clearly states on their paperwork NOT to call the store they were purchased at...to call them directly. I did as they asked. When I reached their customer service rep "Jenny", she was more concerned with schooling me on the proper use of clippers. I had already explained that we are well versed in clipper use. I have 36 years experience alone! Then she condescendingly asked if we were maintaining the clippers properly with the oil that was provided. Again, I repeated that we just opened them today and they did not work out of the box. She then said we should have used them the day they were received and to check my warranty. Once again, I told her they were not needed when they were received. They were ordered as back up. She then told me to send them in at our expense and they would "look at them". I asked for her name....rather then answer me, she asked for both my first and last name and tried to hang up. When I interrupted her, she unwillingly provided her first name and refused to provide her last name. I asked to speak with her supervisor. she put me on a long hold only to come back to say her supervisor was too busy to speak to me. A company is only as good as it's representatives. This was a horrible experience!!! Never again Andis. $160.00 for a new pair of clippers that you berate the customer for when approached, expect them to pay more so you can"look at them", and you treat a long time client with untenable disrespect.

Reliable, well made clipper. Recommended by my pet groomer.
This is a review of the Andis UltraEdge AGC Super 2-Speed Detachable Blade Clipper, Professional Animal Grooming. We take our Standard Poodle to a groomer. It costs us $85 each time. So for the price, that makes this clipper cost 1.5 times the price of a groomer cut. So once I learn a bit more and start cutting my poodle myself, I'll be saving tons of money. I asked my groomer what clippers they prefer to use in her shop and she said Andis. That's why I bought this clipper. However, I actually returned this particular clipper and bought another from another listing on Amazon because for about the same price it included 2 additional blades and a metal comb. So the 95th Anniversary clipper deal was a better value than this one. But the clipper is the same in either case and it is a good one. Corded is the way to go... much less expensive than the rechargeable models and you don't have to worry about not being able to finish the cut due to a dead battery. So far I use the clipper to extend the amount of time between groomer clippings. I'm basically using it to keep her feet and belly clipped in between professional groomings. This has allowed me to go to the groomer every 10 weeks rather than every 6 weeks. As my skills improve I hope to be able to clip my poodle entirely myself and look forward to not having to spend so much money on taking my dog to the groomer.

Excellent Clippers
These are the best dog clippers I've owned. I have two cocker spaniels who have thick, curly hair. Other clippers I've owned would get clogged and/or overheat. While these clippers did get a bit warm, they never clogged and glided right through the hair, even without brushing out the dog first. I highly recommend these clippers, especially if your dog has thick hair.
