KOHLER1131482 Cold Ultraglide Complete Valve Assembly

I used it to replace a Finial faucet 74369 valve body that got fused to the valve in a 18 year old faucet and I ended up damaging to get it apart. This was GREAT. VERY EASY to install. Installed in about 15 mins. BETTER than the original as far as I am concerned- and the original Escutcheon (77172) threaded right on easily. The original handle threaded on and fit without a problem. Original faucet I had to replace the valve a few times because it leaked out the top every few years due to a poor design in my opinion. This is a much improved design and single piece design is easier to deal with and install.

My 17 year old Kohler bathroom faucet started leaking around the stem. The faucet is discontinued and only available from third parties for from $600 to $700. We have two of those faucets and can not afford to spend that kind of money. The Cold Ultraglide Valve assembly did not look the same but I saw where some one reported on Amazon that it worked for them. So I held my breath and bought it and am happy to report that it is indeed compatible. Was easy to replace. The one on the right is the new one. My Amazon cost was $47.

The cold water handle on one of our Kohler faucets (approx. 15 years old) was becoming progressively harder to turn. The culprit was the valve. I ordered a new valve on Amazon, but was unable to get the old valve out of the valve body even after soaking the valve + valve body in liquid wrench, putting it on on vise grip, and using a blow torch on it. I ordered this valve assembly as a last resort before buying a new faucet. It worked as advertised and came with instructions (I still had the original assembly instructions, but having an additional set helped).

The kit made it easy to to replace the leaking faucet. As noted in other reviews, after 14 years the cartridge was frozen into the housing. No amount of heat and oil was breaking that free. This kit was easy to install and works well. Our only comment is that the new replacement faucet is noticeably noisier that the old one. But does it matter? Its a bathroom faucet!

I ordered both the cold and hot 1131482 / 1131481 Ultraglide complete valve kits. On one of the kits I only got the mounting hardware the most important part the valvebody and valve was missing. The bag was obviously opened and the valve body and valve taken out, the person picking this order really did not pay attention, but once I notified customer service a new replacement valve kit was quickly sent. I give this 5 stars but.... although the thread and fit is the same, the nut of the replacement valve where it sits right under the toothed stem where the handle gets connected to is higher and wider than the original and because of this the colored ( Red / Blue ) hot / cold plastic indicator covers don't sit all the way down like on the old valves. I had to do a little cutting off of the top of the plastic indicators to get them to sit right. And once the handle and the bonnet was reconnected you cannot tell. Yes I could've left the plastic indicator covers off but the point is when replacements are made all aspects of the older parts should be taken into consideration. And I also agree with other reviewers that these replacement valve bodies and valves are much much louder than the parts they replaced.

If you have this Kohler valve these are way easier to do than trying to get the cartridge out to replace them for failure. I spent hours trying to get a cartridge out when this took 5 minutes. I am so glad this is available. Did 3 in 1 house in no time at all.

Kohler replaced a leaking valve with a better part. They did the unexpected by not giving me the third degree when I called. Great product, great company!

Replacement valve assembly that was a perfect match. Could not find it at Ace Hardware or Home Depot. The O.D. was 1 & 1/8 inch. Has a much improved mechanism for tightening it to the underside of sink. It was a bear taking the old valve assembly out. I think the increase flow noise mentioned in other reviews in from the smaller diameter water line hose that come with the assembly. Really not much of an issue.

The item arrived exactly as pictured except the fitting on the hose was the wrong size and wouldn't fit the "T" connection under the vanity. After consultation with the seller we sorted out the difficulty and came to an agreement. At the end of the day I was able to have the product installed and working with no leaks.
