Review: On the Road Again - I had a problem with poor performance ie, rough idling, foul smelling exhaust, mpg degradation. The problem was intermittent, I thought the problem might be o2 sensor, not a tough repair, but time consuming. With the engine running, and not acting up, I tapped the mass air flow sensor firmly with bare knuckles. The problem manifested immediately, causing me to believe the Mass Air Flow Sensor was the culprit. I priced a BOSCH OEM replacement from MB at over $500.00 +. I ordered this from AMZN with overnight delivery, installed it literally in minutes. The numbers from my existing BOSCH sensor MATCHED perfectly with the replacement for my 1994 E320 with 248K miles. The results are no less than stellar for this product, I highly recommend. On the Road Again....
Review: Original Bosch - This device is an original Bosch Mass Air Flow Meter with hot film measure element. It is NOT a Chinese Knock Down version as one may suspect. I purchased the meter at an absolutely great price. When I purchased my E320 it was equipped with an Chinese version. Since the engine was completely neglected by the previous owner, I had of course issues with passing the CA smog test. Although, this device was not directly involved with the bad emission, I felt much better knowing that this one could be scratched off the list. Don't get me wrong, the Chinese alternative may work just as good. The design is cheaper and because of that, the meter might fail because of mechanical stress (sensors out of alignment). With the Bosch Meter, it is not possible to get the sensor out of alignment.

**Q: Would this fit on a 1996 Mercedes c280?**
A: Yes this the correct mass air flow sensor for a 1996 Mercedes C280

**Q: Will this fit my 1996 s320?  Also, Does this part have anything to do with China or refurb?  Original Bosch 100%?**
A: The S320 has essentially the same engine as the E320 (6 Cyl. Straight inline) whereas the S Class had a couple more horses, I believe by use of somewhat larger valves and a different CAM timing. The Airmass is measured in the same manner as with the E320 and AMG 3.6Lso it will fit your vehicle and should perform as with the factory installed one. "If it isn't an electrical issue", you could simply purchase a can of Mass Airflow Sensor Cleaner at your local Auto part store and clean it without bending anything out of shape. If the issue is electrical, then you should buy this as an replacement.Over time, it is usually just dirt that deposits on the sensor and causes false information to be transmitted to the Board Computer. Sorry for the long one.

I bought this part and gave it to my mercedes mechanic. After placing it on the vehicle it didt not fix the problem. Th mechanic tested it and the vlotages were not to spec. Before I could get it back to return, he traded it in as the core on one that worked. Now I am out the $300 this cost me. Once again I did not get what I paid for. This seems to be a recurring theme in my life lately. What every happened to giving the customer what they pay for?
