I go through about 12 of these brushes every other month. I love them for their price. I often forget to wash out brushes at the end of the day. It adds up very quickly with Wooster brands. These brushed are ok quality, requiring a keen eye. Every so often there is a need to remove a bristle or two from your paint job. I typically use these outside and high up, painting mainly to protect. Ten feet or so up makes it easy to hide flaws. If I paint lower, I pay better attention. They don't hold paint as well as more expensive brands. They are great touch up brushes to keep around. If a super fine finish is required or you have more than one room to cut-in, go with a brand like Wooster. Keep these on hand though! They have earned their place in my truck.

Is this good for chalk paint?

Yes! Can be used on a variety of paint jobs. Wouldn’t quite recommend for waxing though

Is this good for waterproofing paint for the basement?

There are nice detail brushes for a interior finish but for slopping waterproofing on concrete you would want a much larger and possible disposable brush. Synthetic is fine for that - you don't need horsehair.

How to use this product?

Use with most paints and varnish. Both latex and oil. Clean well after use if you plan to reuse. If doing a furniture varnish in oil, I'd recommend a different brush. Natural not nylon.
