Had one outdoor rat eating patio furniture. He took off with the 1st trap but I got him with the 2nd one. It’s been a week now, & no dropping’s!

We live in a nice suburb in Southern California. For years, our neighbors suffered from invasive rats. Thousands of dollars, (automobile wiring, garage invasions, endless premium payments for rodent control, etc.), were invested by our neighbors! We NEVER did, until we lost our beloved Cat, to coyotes! He kept our home absolutely free from them. So, out came the old style wire traps, and the new style plastic snap traps. Weeks went by, and we were losing our battle. The rats were chewing through EVERYTHING, and avoiding the mechanical traps despite peanut butter, Nutella, sugar, cheese, smelly cheese, etc. I tried all kinds of suggested “bait”, but only got 2 in as many weeks. As a last resort, I tried these glue traps. YES, finally success! They went after a plastic jug of plain white Rice like it was candy. So, I placed a mound of it in a dark spot in the garage, and surrounded it with these glue traps. Over the past 3 months, I’ve trapped over one dozen, including a ground squirrel! I leave the rodent droppings around my rice pile and simply replace the trap with the “stuck” rodent, refresh the rice “pile”, and wait for the next one, or two. On one night, I got 2 big rats and 2 mice. The traps are very effective when nothing else works. Today, I just got another one and it’s in today’s trash bin for pick up. Easy!

So the stupid mechanical mouse killers are a thing of the past. In my recent discovery after I moved into a house, I found that the mechanical traps only get about 10% of mice! So I switched to glue paper and pow, I started getting a couple mice. Now the strong mice will eventually get unstuck and leave a mess of hair, pee and feces. So the glue paper gets about 40% of mice. Then I got the Kingman Prime glue trap. The mice are not getting out of this one. Time will tell, but I only got a couple mice left. One that I know of. I feel confident that these will get 90% or more with no escapees. I will update If a mouse gets out of this glue trap. 5/7/2026

Comes with a lot of traps and the size is huge but the sticky stuff is not as sticky as it should be. I haven’t trapped anything. It just looks like something got in it and got out easily. Will keep trying though and adjust my review if needed UPDATE: I just caught 3 baby mice, so it’ll work for smaller mice just not big ones

I place this outside near my patio door after noticing they were getting into the bird food and my garden. I basically set up a baited trap, place the bird food bag (sunflower seeds) on top of rollaway cart near a garden rack, and placed these traps on the garden rack creating a “bridge” to the cart. I placed two sets of the traps side by side. The area was small enough for mice to get through. I’m aware of stray cats that come by and visit my patio, so I placed them where they won’t get caught, or at least o thought they wouldn’t. Day one, nothing, I didn’t notice anything on the traps that look like they were disturbed Day two. I got 4 mice, I woke up one morning and noticed a mouse on one trap and the other trap missing. I looked in my camera and saw that a stray cat cAme by and did me a favor and killed the mice. He tried to run off with one that contained 3 mice and in the process got stuck and spooked himself and ran to one of my plants but eventually got unstuck. I feel bad for the cat :( . So next time I do the bait trap again, i’ll Try to make it. Not accessible to the stray cats.

TL;DR: Slow, painful death for rats and mice. Sticky as heck. May lead to rodent adoption. I debated how many stars to give this product. It did what I purchased it for, to my absolute horror. If you are at all empathetic towards animals, even if you have an infestation under the house as I do, this method will break your heart. Let no one tell you this is a humane way to get rid of rats. A snap in a trap would be less cruel. When I finally worked up the courage to look at my glue trap a week or so after placement, I found that there were already three or four rats stuck on it. One of them was looking at me. She was still alive, barely. I ran to the house for gloves and then peeled that crying little rat bit by bit from the trap. Her paws and legs were stuck together, her tail was coated, her whiskers clumped. A lot of her hair didn't come with her. If this ever happens to you, just know the best way to get a rat unstuck is with cooking or baby oil. We soaked that poor, wretched rattie before putting her in an improvised cage. She was weak and emaciated; who knows how many days she was stuck on that trap. Not as long as the others, to judge by the insect activity. I won't ever forgive myself. As of this review, this rescued rat has been with us for about five days. Her name is Radish. Her eyes aren't bulging from her skull as much, but her patchy, oily fur makes her look like a singer in an 80's punk band. She's going to make it, though. I'm ordering a cute pink cage for her from Amazon tonight. Just until all her fur grows back, of course. ;) Editing to add: Radish recovered and was set free. We adopted four fancy rats and spoiled them rotten.

UPDATE; I swear by these things now. I always keep one down under my RV kitchen sink cabinet and another under the RV wardrobe area in the bedroom. Every once and awhile I'm still finding a mouse or two stuck in one or the other. I'm fairly certain that the occasional mouse that Im finding these days is getting caught in the glue traps very soon after getting into the RV. This means they havent been able to nest or infest. But it also means that I've got a hole somewhere to plug. Thought I plugged all possible entry routes with expanding spray foam last summer but apparently I missed one. I keep the RV absolutely food free when in storage but winter is upon us and mice are looking for warm, dry shelter nonetheless. The only thing I worry about with these is; Am I actually drawing mice into the RV by putting a dab of peanut butter on the center posts of the glue traps as bait? I've read that mice have an excellent sense of smell. I'm gonna guess that the bait probably does draw mice to a certain extent but theyd come anyway, just maybe not as often. Perhaps some mouse psychologist out there can help me out on this one ;) Anyway, I suppose it doesnt matter as long as the glue traps snag the little intruders before they can do any damage. And they seem to be doing just that. Had mice invade my RV this winter. I dont mind mice and dont like killing creatures BUT cannot have mice chewing up my RV and leaving their waste everywhere!! Bought these and laid them out. After two nights, the two offending mice were stuck fast to just one of these boards. I'm leaving a couple of others under my cabinets just in case. Really happy with how well and how quickly these work!!
