I changed the color of my hardware and that facilitated changing out the old surface bolts that I had installed on my three sets of double doors. Just 15 minutes ago, I installed the first of the three and everything went as expected. All of the negative reviews written were not representative of my experience. I think that many times people have no idea how to properly install stuff like this. Take your time, make sure measurements are correct, drill PILOT holes and then install. I used my power impact driver with no problem, but if you have trouble controlling power tools I would suggest driving the screws by hand, it would be easy to strip out the small screw heads. The hardware installed easily and works very well. I know that there can be an occasional bad unit, but in my case it all worked very well. If I have any issues installing the other two sets, I will come and edit this review. They operate well too. Esp like having both plates for inside, or outside frame installation. If you do not pre-drill holes, or use too large drill bit, or try to use drill to tighten the screws, you increase your chances of screwing it up. I saw some reviews about how screws were too small... they are just right for a non-security installation if installed properly. I bought two.
