Commonwealth Basket Round Reed #4 2-3/4mm 1-Pound Coil, Approximately 500-Feet

This is excellent Reed for weaving. It does not break easily after being soaked in water for about ten minutes and can be dyed with fabric dyes. I used it weave the hot air balloons pictured below for nurseries. I made about 30 of them and had no problem working with this reed. I recommend it to other artists looking to learn how to weave.

Easy to use, easy to dye. After the first basket you learn from all the mistakes you make. The second basket was a made for a special use and came out great. DO NOT soak too long, the reed will shred, about 10 minutes, If you make a Cherokee double wall basket you need to soak the whole basket before you make the second wall.

I really liked the quality of the reed, how it moves while weaving, and how it's drying. Only have made two baskets but very pleased.

This product was a lifesaver! With prime shipping and the abundance of reed that comes in this size bundle i was able to finish a large sculpture project for school with some left over. This material is very durable which makes it easy to explore. You can use it in many different ways. I strongly recommend using it for any level of craft.

Didn’t realize I had bought the #4 reed and to be honest I would’ve rather gotten a thinner reed, however it still definitely worked well for the process of weaving. A little smelly out of the bag but easy to work with and I’m happy that it dyes easily.

Worked well for repairing my wicker furniture. Make sure to soak it in water. Yes this is how underwater basket weaving works. You soak the cane to make it bendable and then weave it in.

Great reed! No fuzzies or breakage

Love being able to order reed from Amazon, and the price isn't bad. But the reed is not of particularly good quality.
