These unbreakable stick-on 'dots' were packaged with padding inside a large box. Naturally, that added excessive charges for shipping to the already unrealistic price for the product. There are other ways to get the same effect without the purchase of these 'dots',

A friend of mine used these on his dSLR, so I thought I would give them a try. While they do a good job of putting your finger on the shutter, they wear out and lose their stickiness too quickly. Once the adhesive wears down, the dot slides around and can cause your shutter not to fire. I ended up ripping my ProDot off during a wedding shoot when I realized it was causing my shutter button to hang up. If you are a casual user who makes a few clicks a week, it might be a fun addition to your camera... If you are a professional who smashes your shutter a few thousands times a weekend, it won't last. I have no problem finding my shutter release button without the ProDot either.

Aside from the improved tactile response, adding this to both the video and shutter buttons really makes it easy to switch back an forth without taking your eye from the viewfinder

I love these. Have used them on buttons set well into the camera body and they work great.
