## Description

desertcart.com The 110 Folding Hunter--Buck's signature knife--originally debuted in 1962, making it a good year for knife safety. The Folding Hunter is equipped with a nail-notch lockback design that opens easily and closes safely during any activity, ensuring that the knife never goes out of style. The knife's 3-3/4-inch stainless-steel clip blade, meanwhile, is ideal for detail work, such as piercing and cutting in tight places. And users will love the natural wood-grain handles and polished brass bolsters, which add a classic touch to the design. The Folding Hunter, which comes with a black leather sheath for easy carrying, is backed by Buck's 4-Ever unconditional lifetime warranty. The Folding Hunter comes with a black leather sheath for easy carrying. Specifications:Blade length: 3-3/4 inches Blade material: 420HC stainless steel Carrying system: Black leather sheath Handle material: Natural wood grain Length closed: 4-7/8 inches Locking: Yes Weight: 7.2 ounces Warranty: Lifetime Product Description Buck’s Folding Hunter was created in 1963 when Al Buck decided that a revolutionary folding lock back knife was needed by outdoorsmen who wanted a sturdy knife but did not want to carry a long fixed-blade knife. He was right and the result proved to be the key to the company’s future. The challenge was to combine the strengths of other folding knives with locking mechanisms into a good-looking, reliable product. It wasn’t easy, but after a series of refinements the Model 110 was unveiled. Within six months, this innovation was the hottest new knife in the industry, even with its unheard-of price of $16 Within two years it was the No. 1 selling sports knife in the world. Al Buck knew a good thing when he saw one. The Folding Hunter, after 50 years, is still one of America’s best-selling knives. The Folding Hunter set the standard for folding lock back knives, with the attention to detail, high quality and craftsmanship that have made Buck the No. 1 name in knives.

Review: OMG! What a deal...what a knife!!! - Trust me when I tell you that this price for a brand new Buck 110 folding hunter is unheard of!! Best price out there as it retails from Buck for about $70.00 give or take a couple of bucks. Next: When you take this knife out of the box and feel it in your hand for the first time you will know what quality workmanship is and never own another brand of knife again. It feels like it was made just for your hand. I have never felt a more high quality, better balance, heavy duty cutting tool in my life. Heavy duty but not bulky or "too much" for the hand...just perfect. It comes more than razor sharp and with a mirror polish. The heavy leather sheath is hand made in Mexico (just as excellent leather workers as Americans and I come from a family of Scottish and German-American leather workers) and is ready for a long life and will take all the punishment on the job or in the field you can give it. I'd still use some high quality leather treatment to weather proof it to extend it's life but it comes well treated. I've owned Cold Steel, Benchmark, CRST, Gerber...none of them measure up to this knife or the other Buck I own (A fixed blade Pathfinder). I'll never own another Knife after seeing the quality of Buck knifes. ALSO: A lot of people complain about how they were just throwing their new buck around and Oh my the tip broke off and that's proof that Buck ain't that good!!! Hey, Buford! Read the paperwork that comes with the knife or the specs on the web site: This is a cutting tool...don't throw your Buck knife. If you don't use it the way it was made to be used don't expect things to go wrong...and you also void the warranty. A buddy of mine that passed away recently was a Viet Nam combat veteran who carried a Buck Special and a Buck 110 Folding Hunter from his first tour in Viet Nam in 1967 all through his life and left his collection of Buck Knives (including the two mentioned above) to his oldest son who now uses them for hunting and such just like his dad did. That's 45 years of service. I think that's worth the $29.00 asking price. Hell; it's worth the $70.00 but I'm glad I found the one here instead:)
Review: Simple, durable, unbeatable and quality. - I just received the Buck 110 yesterday and I am not typically one to comment on my purchases but the sheer quality of this knife led me to write a review. I was, to be honest, simply looking for a good EDC knife. I am the type of guy who doesn't like to repeat what he has said if it has already been said and I certainly don't like to buy something again that has already been bought. Given that, I don't think I will ever need to buy another knife, circumstances permitting. The sheer heft and weight of the knife speaks volumes to the durability of the knife. It is not a light knife. Nor is it by any stretch a small knife. But I never asked for something that might float out of my pocket unchecked. I will say that it certainly was much larger than I had anticipated ( even given reviews pointing to the fact that this is a large knife), but I have no problems keeping this in my pocket. To be certain; I dont think I would be comfortable fitting anything else in the pocket with it, save some change or a pen. But rather than complain; I would say that if anything, it has earned its right to have its presence felt as I go about my day. Straight from the box it was the sharpest I have seen a knife. The desertcart picture does a great disservice to spectacular workmanship on the brass, and particularly the nuances and rich color of the wood grain. It is simply beautiful. If it was not of such a sturdy and undeniably strong build I would be hesitant to use it. But its beauty is only surpassed by its simple functionality and toughness. Its is, unsurprisingly, built in the USA. As for the case, I could take it or leave it. I don't ever intend on using it but would I want to, I have found that it is a bit snug at first. Either way it seems to be solid and I would have no complaints using it while hiking or camping. But simply put the knife is razor sharp, beautifully constructed and one of the most durable knifes I have handled. It is large and that can be offputting to some, but really just look in the dimensions in the product description and take the measurement. Its right there for you to measure out. But even if you are unsatisfied by it, you sure as heck cant just break it out of dismay. Even if you do somehow manage to, the things got a lifetime warranty. All around, an amazing large knife that will not let you down. And it sure as heck wont be an heirloom to my children cause it's going underground with me, thats how much I like the thing. And with the affordable price, the kids can just earn their bread and buy one themselves, it won't break their bank account!

**Q: I bought this knife and the blade is stamped with a "50" in an anvil instead of "Buck 110". What's the difference?**

A: The Buck 110 is made in the USA.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The *Value* is there.
*by M***L on September 22, 2011*

As a strict adherent to "Value above all else" when it comes to shopping I almost always take my time when considering a new product to purchase. I have for months now been searching for a good, reliable folding blade in the 2.5 to 4.0 inch range and decided to settle on the Buck. Of course, this was after mulling over other brands such as Cold Steel, Spyderco, Bear & Son, and various others. It was easy to find blades to like in those other lines but there was always something nagging me away. Cold Steel products, while flashy and ostensibly quite durable if their videos are to be believed, were a bit on the expensive side and of course now being outsourced to other countries for manufacture. I wasn't sure if I wanted a bone-handled knife from Bear & Son and I wasn't quite "struck" with any of the other knives I happened to view. Of course, I read many folks' reviews on all the knives and there was the requisite brand loyalty flourishing throughout, rants on gimmicky additions to more current styles, and of course no consensus on what constituted a perfect folder. I chose the 110 for one very simple reason. It was $35. And if the quality wasn't there as the reviews suggested...well, I'd be out a nice steak dinner. *** Here is what I like about the knife: -Heft. Some may see this as a detriment but one thing I've always liked about good 'ol USA products is their weight. I see weight as a sign of quality, in most things at least, and it is applicable here. I've never felt like I was going to break, bend, twist or contort the Buck regardless of the application I was using it for. -Sharpness. As others before me have said, this thing comes out "shaving sharp" or any other superlative you can think of. I had many minutes of fun dragging the 110 blade across numerous envelopes, newspapers, and other paper waste when I first got it. Of course, the ever popular "arm hair" test was done and I was sans a nice patch of hair on the forearm for a period of time. -Style. Now some may not like the spartan look and features of the 110, to me however, there is an elegance to the simplicity. There are no fancy gimmicks or additions. What we have here is a solid lockback folder. -The Warranty. Lifetime. 'Nuff said? Well, perhaps not quite. It is a very good warranty (Lifetime) but they will not honor it if you try some DIY repair or are using it to carve faces into rocks. Just check the website, I don't know that I've found a better warranty (Lifetime) yet. -It was $35. For me, quite easy to justify a purchase for something that should, and has if you're inclined to believe other reviews, last for years to come. *** I seem to recall a reviewer grousing about finding it cheaper elsewhere. This person should have bought another that day and been happy to have two great knives for less than $60. Joy could have been brought to an outdoors-man family member. At the end of the day, you shouldn't feel bad about pulling the trigger on a knife like this. You may lack some of the features found on other more expensive knives but if what you're looking for is a sharp, dependable and no-nonsense knife, you've found it here.
