U said it’s plastic .. so how can plastic be placed in microwave oven ?

This is what the manufacturer says about their idli maker: "Made of superior food grade, non-toxic, virgin Polymer plastic, this idli cooker is designed for preparing idli in a microwave oven.' Almost all of my microwave cookware is made of this same material. I believe it is safe and stable, it will not melt🌝

Can I use the stand in regular cook-top steamers?

No you can’t. It’s plastic and could melt on stove top.
