(TP-8630 UV Leak Detection Flashlight

Works well, much better than the cheaper one I replaced with this. This is very bright and highlights the dye nicely. It has enough power to reach areas that are tough to get to, whereas my previous inexpensive one needed to be very close to the suspected area and still did not highlight too well.

Purchased this light thinking it would be really bright. but when compared to opti-max the optipro is just a little brighter. For double the price i was expecting double the brightness. guess not.

A pretty good UV light. A fair amount of visible spectrum.When you're in a shop with lots of lighting it gets hard to see the faintly glowing dye. It does ALMOST as well as an older, much bulkier, expensive, hot, mercury vapor, 100 watt Magnaglow lamp.

The opti-lux 400 is compact enough to fit in your hands for ease of usage. Made from of aluminum makes it lightweight and durable. And less weight to move around while looking for a leak. It's small enough to get close up in those tight areas. A push button on the body gives you on/off function. A nice, smooth, and glossy paint job does make it feel like a good buy. And seals to help keep out fluids and such.The beam, however, is none adjustable and set permanently in a focus spot. Having a small focus area to cover (about as wide as a fist, more or less) leaves it a bit unwanting. Since at times a mid to full flood is desired to cover the area to make searching quicker and better to spot.It does, however, light up the dye very well to see when present. Nice and bright to show you the way. With the opti-lux 400, you have to remove the battery and put it in the charging station to charge. Another drawback to this flashlight, but not much. The yellow lense glasses I didn't try since I have my own already. But, it's nice that it comes with it for those who don't have one and for those to have an extra pair.There's others out there that are great with adjustable beams ( or preset to be wider ) with a piggyback charging I would get instead. They are still lightweight, small, and convenient.

Product was below the standard for a product at this price. It did not work as advertised and when attempting to return to the manufaturer for warranty it was not accepted. This product paled in comparrison to other products with similar specs.

Light is not as bright as advertised but it works and gets the job done.

This will spot dye from across the room. Makes a/c diagnosis a snap if there is due in the system.

Great UV leak detector. Yes I agree with others that say the spot size is small, but it's very bright. What would make this light even better would be an adjustable spot size.
