GMAT Official Advanced Questions Review: Helpful supplement to the OG - I found this book incredibly helpful and would highly recommend it for those targeting a 700+ score. I would NOT recommend starting your prep here. Start with the OG and move to the OG Advanced only if/when you're consistently getting OG questions correct and need tougher content to challenge you. Quant is my weaker area and I wasted time struggling with some of the advanced problems that would have been better spent reinforcing the fundamentals, so don't do that. On the other hand, I was very strong in verbal and it was absolutely this book that got my verbal score from good to great. Unlike the OG, the problems are organized by content area and there are actually good answer explanations. For the most part I found the explanations to be genuinely helpful, with some useful insights on how to approach similar problems. As you know if you've used it, the OG can be incomprehensible. Also, because this book is a lot shorter than the OG, it's easier to carry around if you want to study on the go. It came with me various places while the OG never left its spot on my dining room table. Review: Best book (of 7 I purchased) for GMAT prep - I spent about 20 hours prepping for the GMAT. This book and the official practice exams online were the two best things for my studying. With no prep on my first practice test I scored a 740, I spent the next 2 weeks studying a variety of books and feel like this is the most helpful for raising my score to a 780.
