Bruckle Snapped
Buckle Broke just a moment ago while taking my trousers off. I am so disappointed. The belt itself seemed strong but the buckle didn't last for 5 months the least!I was expecting to have this belt for a long time for at least 3 years!I am very disappointed.

you cant put a new belt buckle on it as it is sewn together as opposed to spending 5 cents on some snaps like belts used to have
The Carhartt name used to mean tough work wear. This belt was not designed to last at all. The buckle is make from chap cast metal and the part of it that runs through the belt is about the size of a pencil lead. I bought the belt in mid September and it was broken by mid November.A belt is something that should last. And due to incredibly cheap manufacturing, you cant put a new belt buckle on it as it is sewn together as opposed to spending 5 cents on some snaps like belts used to have. They have the nerve to call it an Anvil. Carhartt you should be embarrassed and ashamed. Anyway don't buy this belt.

Not the same carhartt as the past
The belt looks aesthetically pleasing when it's first purchased, but after a few weeks of wear the quality issues really start to come out, after just a few months of use is already falling apart. A buddy of mine said that carhartt's quality has gone down recently, I dismissed it as maybe just one bad product but this belt along with a few other items that I had purchased from fleet farm allowed me to see the degradation in quality that this one great company has come down to. It's saddening because I used to swear by carhartt but I can no longer do so.

Not what it once was.
I had one of these belts for over 2 years—a feat for me because I can’t seem to get a belt to last more than 3-6 months usually. The first belt lost the stitches, sewed it up and have it as a backup. The second belt I’ve only had for just over a month and it seems to be different. It was really stiff when I got it and has stretched to the point of not fitting on the smallest adjustment. The buckle dug into the leather so that the end of the belt is rippled from stretching and adjustment. The finish on the hide has scraped off in many places and th leather has also warped throughout the belt. My previous belt was used and abused for 2 years and none of this occurred. Very disappointed in my newest belt. Even the $10 Walmart specials hold up better than this. I gave 2 stars because of th longetivity and durability of my first belt, but I would give the new belt zero stars if I could.

Great belt!
Too many belts on the market these days try to mess with a solid formula. When it comes to belts, a solid piece of quality leather with a few holes in it and a buckle are all that's needed. No stitching to fall apart, no glue to come undone, no fabric that will stretch over time, no "revolutionary" buckle mechanisms that don't really work, or at least not as well as the tried and true version. This is that good, old fashioned, no frills belt that will do what a belt is supposed to do without any BS.

Finally a well built belt!
This is the belt you want if you're tired of buckles breaking, screws falling out and leather coming apart. Its stiff leather, not soft leather that cracks on the surface and delaminates. Its holding up great and still looks almost new after several weeks of use. This belt would be right at home on the work site or going out to diner. It's also handy for holding up pants. Stop buying those soft leather reversible belts at the local department stores and give this one a try.Update 12/27/16 - Over a year later and this belt is holding up great! I'm not easy on it either, I wear it everyday and I work in maintenance, so I have tools attached to it. Its a GREAT belt. Buy 2 and you'll not have to worry about finding a good one for a long time.

Understated fashion and good quality
I needed a sturdy belt to help keep my too-loose pants secure while working at a physically fast-paced environment. There was as much wear and tear as you would expect at the buckle/pinhole area after daily use for a year. Still, the belt did not fray, nor did the buckle chip. The design was not particularly attractive, but muted which was the aesthetic that I was going for. Additionally, the matte black (instead of silver) of the buckle gave it an understated yet modern flair. As for the material of the belt - it didn't feel luxurious, yet it also didn't feel cheap. It was hard as plastic but smooth and somewhat soft. It felt like a $30 belt if that makes sense. I was perfectly happy with it, but please note that I stopped wearing the belt after a year because I no longer needed it (change of work and dress code requirements). Furthermore, I threw it away because it reminded me of all the terrible experiences I had while wearing it. Still, I cannot blame the belt for that and must give it 5 stars as I am unable to provide a reasonable warranting 4 stars instead.

6 years later I'm buying a new one
I've had this belt for a while, looking at my Amazon history I apparently bought my first one in 2012 and just today the stitching holding the clasp to the belt came undone. Its actually still able to hold my pants up but when i take it off the metal will be separated from the leather. I could definitely sew them back together, but sewing through leather is tough and after 6 years I can buy a fresh belt.
